Garage Fave Wookie and DJ Jossy Mitsu headline London’s Creekside Festival

Creekside Festival UK 2023 news

Creekside Festival announces UK Garage favourite WOOKIE and renowned electronic DJ, JOSSY MITSU to headline the South East London gathering in celebration of the much loved community radio station, record label and hub, AAJA’s 5th birthday. Local friends and communities join for a unique, day to night gathering that will take place on Saturday 2 September, across multiple venues in Deptford, South East London.

WOOKIE is a veteran and main fixture within the late 90s and early 00s local London scene and although he has had continued success, it will be a long awaited UKG live performance for festival goers, and absolutely deemed to be unforgettable at the AAJA Snake Pit.  Across the way in Deptford, JOSSY MITSU will host a vibrant set of eclecticism and energy on the dancefloor – as a young, global, sensation, this one will be unmissable.

The Creekside Festival itself is a natural progression from what AAJA has strived for and achieved over the past five years. Championing local artists and nurturing homegrown collectives. Following AAJA’s huge story of resilience following the global pandemic and displacement from their first home, the need to gather couldn’t come sooner. Creekside invites the local community, long term supporters, and big time electronic music fans to join them to enjoy the very best of hyperlocal, underground music from DJs and presenters across a wide array of electronic music all day, and all night, with a sprinkling of headliners to top it off.

We want to celebrate 5 years in the game with AAJA and what better way to mark the occasion than championing all of the hyperlocal Deptford spaces, businesses and community members which have gotten us to where AAJA is today. Creekside will not only celebrate, but also highlight Deptford’s unique and often endangered cultural spaces. The festival will be an intimate, multi-venue, day to night, electronic music festival, with an emphasis on being affordable for all.
