Graspop Metal Meeting 2027: blink-182, Parkway Drive and Faith No More Lead 30th Anniversary Celebration!

Graspop Metal Meeting 2027

Three huge names, three very different sounds and a 30th anniversary to remember. Graspop Metal Meeting is already making a statement for 2027, with BLINK-182, PARKWAY DRIVE and FAITH NO MORE confirmed to headline Belgium’s legendary heavy music festival.

Thirty years is a serious milestone for any festival, and Graspop Metal Meeting is marking the occasion by bringing together some very different corners of the rock and metal world. The Belgian institution returns to Dessel from 17th to 20th June 2027, and its first major announcements suggest the anniversary edition will have plenty to celebrate.

American pop-punk favourites BLINK-182 will make their Graspop debut on Saturday 19th June, Australian metalcore heavyweights PARKWAY DRIVE are set to close the South Stage on Thursday 17th June, and FAITH NO MORE will headline the North Stage on Friday 18th June.

It is an intriguing opening to the line-up. Rather than sticking exclusively to one corner of heavy music, Graspop is bringing together three acts with distinct identities, enormous back catalogues and very different ways of commanding a festival crowd.

BLINK-182 BRING THE POP-PUNK ANTHEMS
If there is one band capable of turning a field full of metal fans into a mass singalong, blink-182 have a pretty strong case.

Formed in California in 1992, Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker helped take pop-punk from its underground roots into the mainstream, combining infectious guitar hooks with irreverent humour and songs that have become part of rock music’s DNA.

Their Graspop appearance on Saturday 19 June will be their first at the festival, with the band closing the South Stage. Expect attention to focus on classics such as All the Small Things, What’s My Age Again? and First Date, alongside material from their more recent releases.

The return of DeLonge in 2022 restored the band’s familiar line-up, and their 2023 album ONE MORE TIME… gave fans another chapter in a story that has lasted more than three decades. Their appeal now spans generations, from those who discovered Enema of the State when it first arrived to younger fans who have found the band through streaming and social media.

Putting blink-182 on the bill is a reminder that a great festival does not always need to follow predictable genre boundaries. Sometimes, a huge chorus and a few thousand people singing every word are every bit as powerful as the heaviest riff.

PARKWAY DRIVE RETURN TO UNLEASH THE CHAOS
For those who prefer their festival headliners with a little more weight behind them, Parkway Drive should deliver a very different experience.

The Australian band emerged from Byron Bay in 2003 and have since grown from metalcore favourites into one of modern metal’s biggest live attractions. Albums including Killing with a Smile, Horizons, Deep Blue and Ire helped establish their reputation, while tracks such as Carrion, Wild Eyes and Vice Grip have become staples of their live sets.

Parkway Drive will headline the South Stage on Thursday 17 June, opening the festival’s anniversary weekend in suitably ferocious fashion.

Their return is particularly significant because they already have history at Graspop. Their 2023 performance was one of the festival’s standout moments, making their return as headliners a natural progression. Anyone who witnessed the scale of that show will understand why the organisers have brought them back for such an important edition.

Over the years, Parkway Drive have developed a reputation for combining crushing breakdowns and relentless drumming with ambitious stage production. Their performances are designed for the biggest stages, but the music still retains the aggression that made the band a force in metalcore in the first place.

Thursday’s announcement gives Graspop a powerful opening headliner and a clear statement of intent for its 30th birthday.

FAITH NO MORE FINALLY RETURN TO DESSEL
Perhaps the most intriguing announcement for longtime alternative metal fans is the return of Faith No More.

The San Francisco band will headline the North Stage on Friday 18 June, marking their first Graspop appearance in 11 years. Their previous planned return in 2022 was cancelled, making the 2027 booking particularly significant for fans who have waited years to see them back on the festival stage.

Led by the unpredictable Mike Patton, Faith No More have never been easy to categorise. Their music pulls together metal, funk, punk and alternative rock, often shifting direction without warning. That refusal to play by the rules helped make them one of the most influential bands of their era.

The landmark album The Real Thing brought them to a much wider audience, driven by the success of Epic, while Angel Dust pushed their sound into stranger, darker and more experimental territory. King for a Day… Fool for a Lifetime continued that willingness to take risks.

Faith No More’s live reputation is built on the same unpredictability. Patton’s stage presence can turn a performance into something genuinely unusual, while the band’s musical precision keeps everything anchored beneath the chaos.  Their Friday headline slot gives the anniversary line-up a different kind of heavyweight attraction: a band whose influence reaches well beyond a single genre and whose performances are never simply about replaying the hits.

THIRTY YEARS OF GRASPOP, AND PLENTY MORE TO COME
The first three headliners establish an interesting balance for Graspop Metal Meeting 2027. PARKWAY DRIVE represent the scale and intensity of modern metal, BLINK-182 bring the timeless appeal of pop-punk, and FAITH NO MORE add the adventurous spirit of alternative metal.

It is a combination that should appeal to more than one generation of festivalgoers, while giving each day a distinct identity. With four days of music across five stages planned for the anniversary edition, there is plenty of room for the organisers to add further surprises as the line-up develops.

Graspop has spent three decades establishing itself as one of Europe’s major destinations for hard rock and metal. Its 2027 edition looks set to celebrate that history without being trapped by it, mixing established legends with the continuing evolution of heavy music.

More artists are expected to be announced, with ticket-sale details to follow through the festival’s official channels – For now, the first question is which headliner has caught your attention: blink-182, Parkway Drive or Faith No More?

And with three very different names already confirmed, who would you like to see added next?
