Summerfest 2027 Adds Lake Street Dive and My Morning Jacket as Milwaukee Line-up Takes Shape

USA Summerfest adds 4 acts news

Summerfest 2027 is already shaping up to be an exciting celebration of live music, with four major acts confirmed for next summer’s festival in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. ZAC BROWN BAND, FOREIGNER, LAKE STREET DIVE and MY MORNING JACKET have all been announced, offering an early taste of the variety that makes one of America’s best-known music festivals such a draw for fans.

Taking place across three weekends, from 24th – 26th June, 1st – 3rd July and 8th – 10th July 2027, Summerfest will once again bring hundreds of performances to its permanent festival grounds on the shores of Lake Michigan. With country, Southern rock, classic rock and alternative sounds already represented, the first announcements suggest another festival built around musical diversity rather than a single genre.

The latest additions are particularly interesting, with Lake Street Dive and My Morning Jacket both confirmed for the BMO Pavilion, joining Foreigner, while Zac Brown Band will headline the much larger American Family Insurance Amphitheater.

ZAC BROWN BAND BRING SOUTHERN ROCK TO SUMMERFEST
ZAC BROWN BAND will headline the American Family Insurance Amphitheater on Friday, 25th June, giving Summerfest 2027 a major country and Southern rock attraction for its opening weekend.

Known for blending country storytelling with rock energy, soulful harmonies and an accomplished live-band sound, Zac Brown Band have developed a following that stretches well beyond the traditional country audience. Songs such as Chicken Fried, Toes and Colder Weather have become familiar favourites, while their live performances are renowned for moving comfortably between laid-back country, blues influences and full-throttle rock.

The Grammy Award-winning group have enjoyed considerable commercial success, with multi-platinum releases, numerous chart-topping country albums and billions of streams across their catalogue. Their ability to cross musical boundaries makes them a natural fit for Summerfest, where country fans share the festival grounds with rock audiences and listeners from across the musical spectrum.

The 2027 performance will also bring Zac Brown Band back to one of Milwaukee’s most recognisable concert stages, giving fans an opportunity to experience the group’s expansive live sound in an amphitheatre setting.

FOREIGNER CONFIRMED FOR THE BMO PAVILION
Classic rock fans have another reason to look towards Milwaukee, with FOREIGNER announced for Friday, 2nd July, at the BMO Pavilion.

Few bands have accumulated a catalogue as enduring as Foreigner’s. With songs including Cold as Ice, Hot Blooded, Urgent and the enduring power ballad I Want to Know What Love Is, the group remain a fixture of classic rock radio and a familiar name across generations of music fans.

Their Summerfest appearance also arrives alongside the announcement that Milwaukee World Festival and BMO are extending their longstanding partnership, reinforcing the pavilion’s role in the festival’s headline concert programme.

Foreigner’s inclusion adds a distinctly different flavour to the early line-up. Where Zac Brown Band bring a mix of country and Southern rock, Foreigner offer the big choruses, instantly recognisable hooks and arena-rock atmosphere that have helped their music endure for decades.

For festivalgoers looking to combine a major live performance with the wider Summerfest experience, the BMO Pavilion continues to provide an important part of the event’s evening concert offering.

LAKE STREET DIVE ADD SOUL, POP AND MUSICAL FLAIR
One of the most intriguing additions to the Summerfest 2027 line-up is LAKE STREET DIVE, who will take over the BMO Pavilion on Saturday, 26th June.

The American band have built their reputation on an infectious blend of soul, pop, jazz, R&B and rock, underpinned by exceptional musicianship and the distinctive vocals of Rachael Price. Their sound is difficult to squeeze into a single genre, which is precisely part of the appeal. Rich harmonies, inventive arrangements and an easy chemistry between the musicians have helped turn Lake Street Dive into a formidable live act.

Their announcement follows a period of growing recognition, including a Grammy nomination for their 2024 album Good Together and a near-sell-out debut performance at Madison Square Garden. Their ninth album, Good Together’s follow-up What About Flamingos?, also reflects the band’s continuing interest in capturing the energy and spontaneity of musicians playing together.

At a festival where fans can move between radically different styles from one stage to the next, Lake Street Dive should offer a welcome change of pace. Their performance gives the opening weekend a more soulful, groove-led dimension and broadens the appeal of the early Summerfest 2027 programme.

MY MORNING JACKET SET FOR A RETURN TO MILWAUKEE
Summerfest has also confirmed MY MORNING JACKET for Thursday, 1st July, at the BMO Pavilion, adding one of alternative rock’s most distinctive live bands to the second weekend.

For more than 25 years, the Louisville, Kentucky, group have carved out a sound that combines alternative rock, psychedelic textures, expansive guitar work and atmospheric songwriting. Led by vocalist and guitarist Jim James, My Morning Jacket have earned a loyal following by building songs that can move from delicate, reflective passages into powerful, guitar-driven climaxes.

Their reputation on stage is a major part of their appeal. Rather than simply reproducing studio recordings, the band are known for performances that give their music room to stretch, making their concerts particularly attractive to fans who enjoy the unpredictable side of live rock.

Their Summerfest booking is another strong addition to the festival’s developing 2027 line-up. Positioned between Lake Street Dive’s opening-weekend appearance and Foreigner’s classic-rock show the following evening, My Morning Jacket bring a different generation and character of rock music to the BMO Pavilion.

The announcement also gives alternative and indie rock fans an early date to mark in their calendars, with more artists still expected to be revealed.
