SWEDEN ROCK FESTIVAL has made a major statement for 2027, announcing its first 52 bands in a heavyweight line-up featuring MÖTLEY CRÜE, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, PARKWAY DRIVE, ALICE COOPER, EUROPE and AMON AMARTH.
Taking place from 9th – 12th June 2027 in Norje, southern Sweden, the festival is once again bringing together classic rock royalty, modern metal heavyweights, punk favourites and a strong selection of alternative acts for four days of live music.
Leading the first announcement, MÖTLEY CRÜE bring their unmistakable brand of arena-sized hard rock, while QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE add their distinctive blend of desert rock and alternative swagger. Australian metalcore heavyweights PARKWAY DRIVE promise a very different kind of intensity, with shock-rock legend ALICE COOPER and Swedish rock icons EUROPE adding decades of hits and stage experience to the bill.
There is plenty for metal fans, too. Swedish melodic death metal favourites AMON AMARTH and ARCH ENEMY join the line-up alongside German power metal veterans ACCEPT and EDGUY, Finnish favourites CHILDREN OF BODOM, and American metalcore outfit MOTIONLESS IN WHITE. KK’S PRIEST, METAL CHURCH, ARMored SAINT and SANCTUARY further strengthen the traditional heavy metal contingent.
The announcement also reaches well beyond the biggest names. Punk and alternative fans can look forward to BAD RELIGION, THE BABOON SHOW, BLACK FLAG, BLIND CHANNEL and BRUTUS, while hard rock and classic rock are represented by BLUE ÖYSTER CULT, URIAH HEEP, FASTER PUSSYCAT, ANGEL, DAUGHTRY and AXEL RUDI PELL.
For those looking for something heavier, stranger or less predictable, IGORRR, GAEREA, WITCH CLUB SATAN, FINNTROLL and CASTLE RAT bring a more adventurous edge. Stoner rock outfit FU MANCHU, British rockers GREEN LUNG, Australian newcomers THE SOUTHERN RIVER BAND and Swedish favourites ORBIT CULTURE add further variety to an already broad bill.
The full first wave also includes LORDI, CLUTCH, DYNASTY, TUNGSTEN, PAIN OF SALVATION, MORGANA LEFAY, SHAKRA, DOYLE, ASOMVEL, DOGMA, SPLIT DOGS, STARBENDERS, THE ZAC SCHULZE GANG, UNDERGROUND FIRE, PARKER BARROWS and THE PHOTONICS.
With 52 acts now confirmed and more announcements expected, this is only the beginning of the build-up to next summer. The festival promises more than 95 bands across five stages over its four days, leaving plenty of room for further additions before the gates open.
