ANGÈLE is heading back to GAROROCK. The Belgian pop superstar has been confirmed for Friday 25th June 2027, joining DAVID GUETTA among the first major names announced for the French festival’s landmark 30th-anniversary edition.
Taking place on the Plaine de la Filhole in Marmande, south-west France, GAROROCK will return from 25th – 27th June 2027. With ANGÈLE bringing her latest musical chapter to the stage and DAVID GUETTA set to close the festival on Sunday, the first announcements are already pointing towards a weekend that stretches well beyond the event’s rock roots.
For ANGÈLE, it is also a return to familiar territory. Having previously played GAROROCK in 2019, she will arrive in 2027 as one of the biggest names in French-language pop, with a new album and a fresh electronic direction giving this performance a different feel from her earlier appearance.
ANGÈLE IS ENTERING A NEW ERA
The timing of the announcement could hardly be better. ANGÈLE released her third studio album, Instinct, on 16th October 2026, opening a new chapter in a career that has taken her from Belgian breakthrough artist to international pop star.
Her rise began with Brol in 2018, an album packed with sharp songwriting, infectious melodies and a distinctive blend of modern pop and electronic influences. Tracks such as Balance ton quoi, Tout oublier and La thune helped establish her as one of the most exciting voices in French-language music.
Since then, ANGÈLE has continued to expand her sound and audience, working with international artists including DUA LIPA and PHOENIX. Her performance alongside KAVINSKY on Nightcall during the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games introduced her to an even wider global audience.
Now, Instinct signals another evolution. With stronger electronic influences and a more exploratory approach to pop, the album points towards a live show that could feel very different from a conventional greatest-hits performance. Her GAROROCK appearance will offer fans the opportunity to experience this new material in the festival setting it is made for: loud, open-air and surrounded by thousands of people.
A GAROROCK HOMECOMING
ANGÈLE is no stranger to Marmande. Her previous appearance at GAROROCK in 2019 came during the rapid rise of Brol, when she was establishing herself as a major force in contemporary French-language pop. Returning in 2027, she brings a much bigger international profile and a catalogue that has continued to grow. Her music occupies an interesting space between pop, dance and electronic experimentation, making her a natural fit for a festival that has increasingly embraced a broad mix of sounds and audiences.
Her booking also gives Friday’s programme a major early focal point. With further artists still to be announced, there is plenty of room for GAROROCK to build a varied bill around its first confirmed headliners.
DAVID GUETTA IS ALSO ON THE BILL
The other major name revealed so far is DAVID GUETTA, who will perform on Sunday 27 June. The French DJ and producer remains one of the biggest figures in global electronic music, with a catalogue of international hits and collaborations that have helped define modern dance-pop.
Putting ANGÈLE and DAVID GUETTA on the first wave of announcements gives GAROROCK 2027 an immediate pop and electronic identity. The contrast between ANGÈLE’s evolving, French-language pop and DAVID GUETTA’s festival-sized dance production creates two very different attractions across the weekend.
The complete line-up has yet to be revealed, so the next announcements will be crucial in showing how the organisers intend to celebrate the festival’s 30th anniversary. Given GAROROCK’s history of mixing rock, pop, rap and electronic music, there should be plenty more to come.
