Fontaines D.C. Announce Major European Festival Run for 2027

Fontaines DC Euro fests news 2027

FONTAINES D.C. are gearing up for a huge summer across Europe in 2027, with the Irish band set to appear at a string of major festivals spanning Spain, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Greece and Romania. From Barcelona’s celebrated Primavera Sound to Rome’s Rock in Roma and France’s Cabaret Vert, the run will take the Dublin five-piece to some of the continent’s biggest stages.

The announcement adds another major chapter to the band’s increasingly packed touring schedule, giving fans across Europe plenty of opportunities to catch them live. With their restless blend of post-punk, alternative rock and atmospheric songwriting, FONTAINES D.C. have grown from one of Dublin’s most exciting underground exports into one of the most in-demand live bands of their generation.

Their 2027 festival itinerary also reflects the band’s broad appeal. They will appear alongside a wide range of international artists, bringing their intense, guitar-driven performances to festivals that span alternative music, indie, electronic sounds and wider contemporary culture.

SPAIN: BARCELONA CALLING
The summer festival run includes PRIMAVERA SOUND in Barcelona, one of Europe’s most influential destinations for alternative and adventurous music. Known for bringing established headliners together with emerging artists from across the globe, the festival is a natural fit for FONTAINES D.C., whose sound has continued to evolve beyond its post-punk beginnings.

The Barcelona appearance puts the band in the middle of a major European festival season, with Primavera Sound once again expected to attract an international crowd of music fans.

FRANCE: A PACKED SUMMER OF FESTIVAL APPEARANCES
France will be a major part of the band’s schedule, with several appearances stretching from early June into late August.

First up is WE LOVE GREEN in Paris, a festival known for combining major musical names with a strong focus on sustainability and environmental awareness. The event’s adventurous programming makes it another fitting stop for a band whose artistic identity has continually moved beyond straightforward genre labels.

Later in the month, FONTAINES D.C. head south for FESTIVAL DE NÎMES, where performances take place in the spectacular setting of the city’s ancient Roman amphitheatre. The historic venue offers a striking backdrop for the band’s brooding sound and explosive live dynamics.

August brings two further French dates. CABARET VERT in Charleville-Mézières has established itself as one of France’s major summer festivals, mixing rock, rap, electronic music and contemporary culture across several days. The band will then head to Bordeaux for PAGAILLE FESTIVAL, extending their French run towards the end of the summer.

Four appearances in one country underline just how important France has become to the band’s European touring plans.

ITALY: TWO MAJOR DATES IN JUNE
Italian fans will get two opportunities to see FONTAINES D.C. in June, with the band confirmed for ROCK IN ROMA on 18 June before heading north to I-DAYS MILANO the following day.

Rock in Roma brings major international artists to the Italian capital, while I-Days has become one of Milan’s key destinations for large-scale live music. The back-to-back dates offer a welcome double bill of opportunities for Italian audiences, with the band continuing their busy run through the heart of the European summer.

LUXEMBOURG, GREECE AND ROMANIA COMPLETE THE TOUR
Beyond Spain, France and Italy, the band’s itinerary reaches several more countries.  OPEN AIR BELVAL in Luxembourg adds another outdoor date in June, before the band travel to Greece for RELEASE ATHENS in July.

The Athens festival has developed a reputation for attracting major international acts to the Greek capital, making it a significant stop on the tour.

The summer run then reaches Romania, where FONTAINES D.C. will play SUMMER WELL FESTIVAL near Bucharest in August. Known for its contemporary line-ups and festival atmosphere, Summer Well provides another opportunity for fans in Eastern Europe to catch the group live.

Together, the dates create an extensive European run, linking major festival destinations with audiences across different musical scenes and countries.
