The SSE Arena, located in the Titanic Quarter of Belfast, is Northern Ireland’s largest indoor arena and a cornerstone of the city’s entertainment scene. The venue is part of a larger complex known as the Odyssey, which was a landmark Millennium Project that transformed a former shipyard area. The arena itself opened in 2000 under the name Odyssey Arena and was renamed the SSE Arena in 2015 as part of a sponsorship deal. Since its opening, it has become a vital hub for a wide range of events, attracting over 700,000 visitors annually.
It has a capacity of up to 11,000 for concerts and hosts major international music acts across all genres, from pop and rock to country and R&B. In addition to concerts, the arena is the home of the professional ice hockey team, the Belfast Giants, and regularly hosts major sporting events, comedy shows, and family entertainment. Its location in the revitalised Titanic Quarter, with its close proximity to other attractions like the Titanic Belfast museum, makes it a key destination for both locals and tourists.
