Since SIGRID shot into the pop sky in 2017, she has delivered hit after hit and collected more honors than a young artist from the Norwegian coast could ever dream of. Everything from the BBC’s “Sound of 2018”, performing at the Nobel Prize Concert, playing to 30,000 at Glastonbury, making her arena debut at 3Arena in Dublin – and has since taken the world by storm with her high-energy live shows and stellar pop songs.
She has sold out Oslo Spektrum, passed 1.3 billion streams, sold over one million albums and played at Wembley Arena. In addition, she was named “Best Nordic Artist” at the MTV Europe Music Awards and won the NME award for her collaboration Head On Fire with Griff.
With the two critically acclaimed and chart-topping albums Sucker Punch (2019) and How to Let Go (2022), she has solidified her position as one of Scandinavia’s most distinctive pop voices.
On her third album, There’s Always More That I Could Say, Sigrid explores everything from bubbling joy to anger and reflection. The album is characterised by freedom and playfulness in the studio, and the first single Jellyfish shows a lighter, more indie-influenced Sigrid, inspired by early 2000s indie pop.
After a long break from touring, inspiration returned in the studio in Bergen with Askjell Solstrand, who also co-produced the album. Several of the songs were created without pressure – and bear the hallmarks of exactly that. The result is an honest and vibrant album – full of energy, vulnerability and self-irony.
This summer, SIGRID follows up with a long-awaited festival performance at Bergenhus Festning on Saturday, June 13. Organisers are VERY excited for our very own pop star to return to Bergenhus Festning. This will be a concert experience you don’t want to miss.
