
First-time festival South Ocean Festival is making its second artist line-up featuring several top Swedish names. On Monday, BENJAMIN INGROSSO announced his participation at the South Ocean Festival. Now the music festival also announces the top Swedish names ALBIN LEE MELDAU, DINA ÖGON and SMITH & TELL will be participating.
South Ocean Festival is Malmö’s big investment in a music festival that will put the city on the map both nationally and internationally for all music fans.
Now festival director Simon Andersson announces South Ocean Festival’s second artist release in the summer of 2023. The Öresund region’s best music experience South Ocean Festival takes a step closer to what will be a crackling, teeming folk festival on 7th – 8th July.
ALBIN LEE MELDAU – The Swedish artist is known for his poetic and emotionally lyrical style, whose beautiful melodies and breathtaking voice allow him to retell stories in both Swedish and English. Since his debut single “Lou Lou” in 2016, he has released several albums, including the personal album “På svenska,” which chronicles his journey from drug addiction to sobriety. His music is inspired by a variety of genres, including soul, reggae and blues.
BENJAMIN INGROSSO – Despite his young age, the 25-year-old artist from Stockholm has made a huge impact in the music industry. With over 500 million streams on Spotify and 13x gold singles, he can be compared to legends like Bruno Mars or George Michael. Benjamin has an incredible ability in his musicianship and live performances, and has released popular covers, collaborations and singles such as “The Dirt” and “Schampo”.
DINA ÖGON – The Stockholm-based music group Dina Ögon is known for a hybrid of pop, rock, jazz and soul music. Their self-titled debut album, released in 2021, was critically acclaimed and sold out their subsequent tours. Their second album, ‘Oas’, released in February 2023, has also received widespread positive reviews. The music group has received attention from renowned international artists such as Tyler and The Creator.
SMITH & TELL – The Swedish pop duo from Helsingborg is led by Maria Jane Smith and Victor Thell and was one of the most played artists on Swedish radio in 2019. The band’s country-influenced pop sound, inspired by artists such as Mumford & Son, has seen the band achieve international success with songs such as “Forgive me friend”, “Hotel Walls” and “Goliath”. The band’s soaring melodies in the form of intensifying key progressions and acoustic guitars give the listener hints of nostalgia and melancholy. The band has previously won both Swedish and international awards for their music.
Tickets for the festival are available at www.eventim.se and www.southoceanfestival.com. Currently, 2-day festival passes are available as both standard and VIP, but the festival will also offer 1-day tickets which will be released when the full festival line up is announced.
