Roundhay Festival is the newest highlight of Leeds’s 2026 summer cultural calendar. Today, we’re excited to announce Roundhay Festival’s first headliner: LEWIS CAPALDI. Known for his intimate songs and powerful vocals, Capaldi will continue the legacy of Roundhay Park, performing at the iconic location on Saturday 4th July next year.

Roundhay Park is steeped in music history, having hosted legendary performances from the likes of Madonna, The Rolling Stones and, more recently, Ed Sheeran. Next year it will host live music from some of the world’s biggest stars, as well as a midweek programme of free activities.

We’re proud to announce Lewis Capaldi as the first-ever Roundhay Festival headliner in 2026, a true milestone moment. His heartfelt, powerful voice makes him the perfect artist to launch this new chapter, and his much-awaited comeback will be unforgettable – Jim King, CEO of AEG Presents UK and European Festivals

Launched in collaboration with Leeds City Council, Roundhay Festival will deliver substantial benefits to the local area, including increased economic activity. Following the success of AEG’s other festivals, Roundhay will engage local suppliers, employ local staff, and boost spending on accommodation, food and entertainment. The festival’s midweek programme of free-to-access activities for all ages will also offer high-quality arts, culture and wellbeing activities, providing a platform for local talent and encouraging continuous use of the park during the summer. Roundhay Festival is committed to a sustainable future for live music. From powering the festival responsibly to managing waste and partnering with local food vendors, sustainability will underpin every decision. The festival will continually refine its policies to minimise environmental impact while maximising benefits for the local community.

Breaking out in 2019 with his record-breaking single ‘Someone You Loved’ Capaldi followed up with BRIT-nominated debut album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent. Capaldi took a hiatus following the release of his sophomore album, but returned with an inspirational, triumphant surprise show at Glastonbury in 2025, featuring his new song ‘Survive’ , and a joyous appearance at Noah Kahan’s set this year, sparking a rapturous welcome from fans. The single became the fastest-selling single of 2025 and that success has also seen his biggest-ever opening week sales for a single. Capaldi now joins esteemed company with the likes of Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Drake, Lady Gaga & Queen to achieve six UK number 1 singles, beating David Bowie, Katy Perry, The Police & more.

Now, Capaldi is making his ultimate comeback performing at Roundhay Festival on Saturday 4th July and at BST Hyde Park on Saturday 11th July,The beloved Scottish singer is currently making his way through a sold-out 17-date UK arena tour, having been met by rapturous crowds so far in Sheffield, Aberdeen & Glasgow – a powerful reminder of the connection he commands. The response to the tour has been electric, with critics unanimous in their praise, delivering four and five-star reviews across the board.
