North Coast Festival USA 2023 news

North Coast Music Festival has unveiled its stacked Phase 2 lineup for its 2023 edition, taking place Friday, September 1st – Sunday, September 3rd 2023 at Chicagoland’s SeatGeek Stadium Campus.

The festival’s roster of talent already represented a who’s who of electronic music’s most celebrated artists, with headliners like MARSHMELLO, FLUME, DJ SNAKE, ALISON WONDERLAND, ALESSO, LANE 8 (This Never Happened Takeover), Big Gigantic and NGHTMRE’s collaborative GIGANTIC NGHTMRE, ZEDS DEAD, DUKE DUMONT, CHRIS LAKE (Black Book Records Takeover), BLACK TIGER SEX MACHINE, DABIN, MK, ZOMBOY, LIQUID STRANGER (WAKAAN Takeover) and GANJA WHITE NIGHT.

Now, the Phase 2 lineup presents another collection of world-class performers, including the addition of solo sets from BIG GIGANTIC and NGHTMRE. The Phase 2 billing also boasts a bevy of acts who will perform at North Coast for the first time ever, such as Birmingham ‘House & Bass’ pioneer CHRIS LORENZO, Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist/producer ELDERBROOK, platinum-selling artist and Latin House-champion HUGEL, blazing, sought-after house project GORDO, mysterious Atlanta bass duo ATLIENS, renowned hard-hitting bass purveyor LAYZ, and new-wave inspired producer DEVAULT.

Also making their North Coast debuts will be electro-soul producer DAILY BREAD, cutting-edge psychedelic bass artist A HUNDRED DRUMS and twin brother electronic hip-hop duo MZG. Following his speaker-rattling North Coast set in 2019, future bass maestro, Chicago-native INZO will make return to the festival for another illuminating set.

In addition to these new lineup additions, North Coast continues the tradition of supporting local up-and-coming DJs by adding 20+ names from Chicago and the greater Chicago area.

North Coast relocated to the recently-renovated SeatGeek Stadium Campus in 2021, and since then has hosted two widely successful editions welcoming nearly 90,000 attendees per year. The spacious venue expanded North Coast’s experimental art installation programming which included six impressive installations in 2022.

The festival converted a massive air-conditioned dome into an immersive relaxing experience for attendees that wanted to take a break in between sets. Known as The Chill Dome, this installation featured custom lighting and various downtempo and lofi sets from the local Chicago scene. Quickly becoming a fan favorite, The Chill Dome is returning to the North Coast in 2023 and will again host a lineup of lofi and downtempo DJs, to be announced at a later date.

In collaboration with the Incendia team, last year’s event also saw the first-ever Incendia Fire Pit which featured local acts in a fire-breathing dome. The Incendia Fire  Pit is also returning in 2023.

Additional art installations included the hottest photo spots like North Coast Yacht Club’s elevated eye view of the festival and secret rooms in the Yacht’s lower decks, the towering interactive mirror room Temple of Intention, as well as the part-hammock Rainbow Lounge. Fans could take a journey down the colorful Sky Fields tunnel, snag a photo with the sprawling creature The Giant, or check out the kinetic Zephyrs backdrop. The festival also featured various costumed performers which added some flair to the eccentric crowd.

Fans can expect a bevy of new stage designs and art installations for North Coast Music Festival 2023.
