Release Athens 2025 welcomes AURORA and KLANGPHONICS, on Friday July 11th, at Plateia Nerou. The Norwegian art-pop superstar and the fast-rising trio from Germany are coming to Greece for the first time and, together with headliners London Grammar, will present a special night dedicated to all aspects of contemporary pop music.
The 28-year-old AURORA is already one of the most unique voices to emerge from the European scene in the last decade. With over a million albums sold and 2.6 billion streams, she is considered one of the top new acts in the music industry and has gained a huge following around the world thanks to her ethereal vocals and eclectic sound with strong pop and folk influences.
KLANGPHONICS, the innovative electronic music trio formed in Germany in 2017, is redefining the boundaries that separate a live band from a DJ and producer. Maxl Walmsley-Pledl (guitars), Ben Kopfnagel (drums and effects) and Markus Zunic (synths and percussion) met while studying music and have built an impressive career to date following a strict DIY style.
Also joining this years line up are PENDULUM on Friday July 4th, at Plateia Nerou. The Australian drum ‘n’ bass pioneers with their live band will be the very special guests of The Prodigy for an explosive, adrenaline-fueled night. The opening act will be BOB VYLAN, one of the fiercest bands of the decade, in their first ever performance in Greece.
Australia’s PENDULUM are undoubtedly one of the biggest electronic bands of all time. With three platinum albums to their name – their acclaimed debut, “Hold Your Colour” (2005), and the hugely successful “In Silico” (#2 in the UK charts) and “Immersion” (#1 in the UK charts) – they have sold over a million albums in the UK alone, thanks to their unique way of combining the frenetic rhythms of drum ‘n’ bass with alternative rock.
BOB VYLAN is a duo formed in 2017 by Bobby Vylan (vocals, guitar) and Bobbie Vylan (drums) to defy musical conventions, combining the raw energy of punk with the aggression of hip-hop and sharp, politicized lyrics.
Now, following the release of the most powerful album of their career, the brilliant “Humble As The Sun” (2024), they are preparing for another huge tour in Europe and the USA, which will bring them to Athens for the first time.
