Yungblud

Dominic Richard Harrison, known to the world as Yungblud, is an English singer, songwriter, and actor who has carved out a unique space in the alternative rock scene with his genre-bending sound and outspoken lyrics. Born on 5th August 1997 in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, his musical inclinations emerged naturally; his father owned a guitar shop and his grandfather was a musician who played with T. Rex in the 1970s. This early exposure to music, coupled with influences ranging from The Beatles and The Clash to Arctic Monkeys and Nirvana, shaped his distinctive artistic vision.

Before launching his music career, Harrison even dipped his toes into acting, appearing in TV series such as Emmerdale and The Lodge. However, it was his passion for music that truly took hold. He released his debut single “King Charles” in 2017, quickly followed by the Yungblud EP and his first full-length album, 21st Century Liability, in 2018. This period saw him blend punk spirit with pop savvy, tackling social and political issues head-on in his music. He has consistently used his platform to champion mental health awareness and discuss topics relevant to his generation, fostering a powerful connection with his fanbase.

Yungblud’s career has been marked by a steady ascent, with his sophomore album, Weird!, topping the UK Albums Chart in 2020. His self-titled third album in 2022 also reached number one in the UK, further solidifying his status. Beyond his own releases, he has garnered attention for notable collaborations with artists like Halsey, Travis Barker, Machine Gun Kelly, and Imagine Dragons’ Dan Reynolds. A charismatic and energetic live performer, Yungblud’s magnetic stage presence and distinctive gravelly vocals have become hallmarks of his artistry, earning him accolades such as the “Best Music Video” NME award for “Original Me.” He’s also known for his signature pink socks, which he says he wears due to his ADHD condition. Most recently, his ambitious fourth album, Idols, arrived in 2025, drawing inspiration from Brit-pop and artists including David Bowie and Oasis. His commitment to making music accessible to all led him to create his own festival, Bludfest, with ticket prices capped to ensure wider participation.
