Rock for People has wasted no time getting the 2027 festival started. BLINK-182 have been announced as the first headliner for next year’s edition, giving fans a very good reason to start looking towards the Czech Republic already.
The Californian pop punk giants will head to Park 360 in Hradec Králové from 2nd – 5th June 2027, with their appearance set to be one of the biggest moments of the festival’s 32nd edition.
It is a fitting booking for a festival that has spent more than three decades bringing major names from across the rock and alternative world to the Czech Republic. What began in 1995 as a relatively small event in Český Brod has grown into one of Central Europe’s biggest and most respected music festivals.
After moving to Hradec Králové in 2007, Rock for People found a permanent home at Park 360, a huge former airport site that gives the festival plenty of room to build its own little world each summer. Over the years, its stages have welcomed an impressive collection of international artists, from rock and metal favourites to punk, alternative and electronic acts.
Recent editions have featured artists including Iron Maiden, Linkin Park, Bring Me The Horizon, Limp Bizkit, Halsey and Gorillaz. Now BLINK-182 are joining that list.
For BLINK-182, the trip to Hradec Králové is part of a major European run in 2027. The band will be bringing their familiar mix of huge pop punk choruses, irreverent humour and high energy to festival crowds across the continent.
Few bands have had quite the impact BLINK-182 have had on modern pop punk. Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker turned tales of teenage boredom, relationships, growing up and generally making a mess of things into some of the biggest rock songs of their generation.
Their breakthrough albums Enema of the State and Take Off Your Pants and Jacket transformed the band from a Southern California punk outfit into global stars. Songs such as “All the Small Things”, “What’s My Age Again?” and “The Rock Show” became defining tracks of the early 2000s, while blink-182 showed that the band could take their sound in a more mature and ambitious direction without losing their personality.
That combination of nostalgia and genuine staying power makes them a particularly strong festival booking. There will be plenty of fans who grew up with BLINK-182 finally getting the chance to see the band live, alongside a younger generation who discovered them long after those early records changed the pop punk landscape.
And if you’ve ever been to Rock for People, you’ll know that this is exactly the sort of booking that can turn a festival field into one enormous singalong.
There is still plenty to come from Rock for People 2027, with BLINK-182 currently standing alone at the top of the bill. More artists will be announced in the coming months, but the festival has already made its intentions clear.
Next June, thousands of fans will head to Hradec Králové for four days of music, and Blink-182 will be there to kick things off in suitably loud fashion.
