Sydney is getting ready to welcome the new year in style, with Field Day revealing the first wave of artists for its 2027 edition. The annual New Year’s Day festival returns to The Domain on 1 January, bringing a packed day of dance music to the heart of the city.
Leading the first announcement is MAJOR LAZER, who are set to return to Australia for the first time in 11 years. The global dance favourites will take one of the headline spots alongside British drum and bass heavyweight SUB FOCUS, while a third headliner remains under wraps for now.
It is a strong start for a festival that has become one of Sydney’s biggest New Year’s Day traditions. Rather than easing into 2027, Field Day is promising a full day of big beats, late-night energy and plenty of reasons to stay on the dancefloor.
There is plenty to get excited about beyond the headline names, too. The first wave includes some of the biggest and most interesting names from across the electronic music scene, including ANDY C, BOYS NOIZE, ELDERBROOK and Scottish DJ HANNAH LAING.
Sydney talent is also well represented, with CLUB ANGEL joining a bill that stretches across house, drum and bass, techno, garage and everything in between. FUNK TRIBU, NIMINO, MPH, OPPIDAN, SOUTHSTAR, ŁASZEWO and MAD.DAY are also among the artists heading to The Domain, alongside TIFF CORNISH, JOE HUNT, JULIAN FIJMA and more.
Field Day will once again spread the action across three stages, including the return of Casamigos Camp Ground, which is curated by the LGBTQIA+ community. The result is a line-up that feels designed for wandering between stages, discovering new favourites and keeping the New Year’s Day celebrations going from afternoon into the night.
And there is still one very big question hanging over the festival. Field Day has confirmed a mystery third headliner, meaning there is another major name still waiting to be revealed.
With MAJOR LAZER, SUB FOCUS and a secret headliner leading the way, Field Day 2027 is already looking like a seriously good way to start the year.
Field Day takes place at The Domain on Gadigal Country in Sydney on Friday 1 January 2027. The festival is strictly 18+.
