The Haarlemmermeerse Bos

Venue Haarlemmermeer Bos Netherlands

The Haarlemmermeerse Bos is a 115 hectare park-like area northwest of Hoofddorp. The forest was planted in the 1970s, after which it was officially opened to the public in 1979 and has developed into a regional attraction. Events are regularly held in the forest, such as the annual Mysteryland and Concours Hippique. The Floriade took place in part of the forest in 2002, so this part was closed for a while and during the Floriade it was only accessible with an entrance ticket. There are still some remnants of the Floriade 2002 in the forest, such as the Haarlemmermeer pavilion, exhibition building and the Big Spotters Hill.
