Joensuun Laulurinne is a magnificent park area that is particularly suitable for organising large events. One of the most significant events in Laulurinte is Ilosaarirock Festival, which has been organised in the area since 1991 and attracts more than 50,000 visitors to Laulurinne during the weekend. Another event established in the area is the opening of the Finnish summer, in which 6,000 primary school students gather to sing at Laulurinne. In addition, the region has hosted the opening concert of Nightwish’s world tour and a Farmari agricultural exhibition in 2015. Circus and fairy-up are also a familiar sight in the area during the summer.
Joensuun Laulurinne is an exceptional venue, as the area is surrounded by many events supporting services such as campsites, restaurants and parking areas. The area is also located by the lake and the journey from the centre of Joensuu is only a kilometre.
