The first acts for MELT 2024 are confirmed!

Melt Festival Germany 2024 news

25 years after the first edition of the MELT Festival in Ferropolis, 15,000 music lovers will be returning to the Gremmin peninsula from 11 to 13 July 2024 – and can look forward to exclusive shows by JAMES BLAKE, EARTHEATER, SKEPTA, KENYA GRACE, SUGABABES, BONOBO (DJ set) and many more.

25 years ago, in 1999, MELT Festival was held for the first time in the former Golpa-Nord open-cast mine in Gräfenhainichen – and has found its home there. The Ferropolis event site there, with its huge coal excavators and neighbouring lake, has always provided the perfect backdrop for unique musical experiences that combine zeitgeist and avant-garde.

When the site is once again transformed into a spectacular and diverse dream world from 11th – 13th July 2024, there will be numerous top-class live acts, with exclusive German shows by electronic artist JAMES BLAKE, UK grime legend SKEPTA, the comeback of the SUGABABES and the solo debut of ROMY from The xx, which can only be experienced in such a concentrated form in Germany at MELT.

With DJ KOZE, BONOBO(DJ SET), HONEY DIJON, MARCEL DETTMANN (B2B) VTSS, DJ MELL G (B2B) HELENA HAUFF, JOB JOBSE and KI/KI(LIVE), some of the absolute protagonists of the contemporary house and techno scene are also returning to Ferropolis and will provide some outstanding hours in the open air.

As every year, there will also be new artists to discover at MELT 2024. From the spheric dream pop of ART SCHOOL GIRLFRIEND and the stubborn post-punk of BAR ITALIA, to the liquid D’n’B pop of KENYA GRACE, the feminist DIY pop of SLAYYYTER or the multifaceted sounds by OBONGJAYAR: a great mix of genres will once again await visitors of MELT 2024 – and with it the most contemporary and yet most accessible musical festival programme in the country.

As in previous years, several stages will once again be played by selected collectives and their friends: In addition to last year’s highlights such as the Cologne collective around Malugi and Marlon Hoffstadt, Club Heart Broken, and Teenage Dreams by DJ Heartstring, Sedef Adasi’s Hammam Days & Nights, La Noche by Byron Yeates, DHC and THC, and Maricas, the party series by Eloisa Blitzer, Gina Guasch and ISAbella from Barcelona, are also three takeovers that are representative of high-class curation and unmistakable sounds – and therefore ideally suited to MELT.

A total of 150 artists will once again be performing at MELT from Thursday evening to Sunday afternoon, as well as a comprehensive programme of performances, talks and workshops.
