SOMBR’s rise shows no signs of slowing down. After a huge year that has seen the New York singer become one of the most talked about new names in pop, he is heading to Glasgow next summer for a major outdoor show at Bellahouston Park.
SOMBR will headline Glasgow Summer Sessions on Saturday 19th June 2027 as part of his You Are The Reason World Tour, with SUKI WATERHOUSE joining him as special guest.
It is another impressive step forward for an artist whose career has moved at remarkable speed. SOMBR, real name Shane Boose, first began making music from a bedroom studio in New York’s Lower East Side. His early songs had the intimacy of someone figuring things out as they went, but there was always something much bigger hiding underneath.
That potential has since exploded!
His breakthrough came with Back to Friends, a deeply personal indie pop song that somehow managed to feel both intimate and enormous. The track became a global hit and helped introduce SOMBR to an audience far beyond the online world where he first built his following. His debut album, I Barely Know Her, followed in 2025, establishing him as an artist capable of turning heartbreak, uncertainty and complicated emotions into hugely catchy songs.
Now the venues are getting much bigger.
SOMBR’s 2027 tour includes major arena dates across Europe, including a remarkable run of shows at London’s O2. Demand has already been intense, with additional dates being added after the original shows sold out.
Before he gets to London, however, he will make his way to Glasgow.
Bellahouston Park is no stranger to big summer shows. The large park in Glasgow’s south side has hosted major outdoor concerts over the years, giving Summer Sessions a setting where thousands of fans can gather for a full day of live music.
SOMBR’s Glasgow appearance is part of a busy run of UK and Irish dates. He will play Malahide Castle in Dublin on 15 June and Belsonic in Belfast on 17 June before arriving in Glasgow two days later.
For Scottish fans, it should be a particularly exciting opportunity to catch him while his star is still rising. By the time June arrives, songs such as Back to Friends, Undressed and 12 to 12 could sound very different with a huge outdoor crowd singing them back.
And that is perhaps what makes the Glasgow show so interesting. SOMBR’s music started out feeling incredibly personal, almost like you were listening in on someone’s private thoughts. Now those same songs are finding their way into arenas and outdoor festival fields around the world.
There is plenty of momentum behind him heading into 2027, too. Alongside his expanding live schedule, SOMBR continues to release new music and build on the sound that has taken him from bedroom recordings to some of the biggest stages of his career.
From a bedroom in New York to a summer night in Glasgow, it has been quite a journey.
And with SOMBR still only 21, this could be one of those shows that feels even more significant when you look back on it a few years from now.
SOMBR plays Glasgow Summer Sessions at Bellahouston Park on Saturday 19th June 2027, with Suki Waterhouse as special guest.
