Skepta and Arlo Parks confirmed for Pohoda Festival 2024

Skepta and Arlo Parks play Pohoda Festival 2024

SKEPTA is a seasoned figure in the grime genre and one of the most globally recognized artists in British hip-hop. He is a a skilled MC, producer, and a label owner who played a crucial role in bringing grime out of the underground and into the musical limelight in the 21st century. In July, he will bring his energetic show to Trenčín Airport. This morning, Michal Kaščák announced the news on Rádio_FM’s morning broadcast.

A turning point in SKEPTA’s career came with the release of his fourth album, “Konnichiwa,” in 2016. The album was a hit not only with listeners but also with critics. Skepta won the prestigious Mercury Prize for it, and the album ranked number two on the UK album chart. The album featured guest appearances from Pharrell Williams, Wiley, Chip and Young Lord, among others.

SKEPTA enjoyed similar success with his fifth album, “Ignorance Is Bliss,” released in 2019, which also reached number two on the UK album chart. The album featured guest star appearances from J Hus, Wizkid, Cheb Rabi, and Lancey Foux.

SKEPTA‘s third top 10 on the UK album chart came in 2020 when he released “Insomnia,” a collaboration with Chip and Young Adz.

More recently, he founded the Más Tiempo label, which focuses on releasing house dance records.

Skepta is my favourite rapper and the one I listen to the most. His set at Pohoda in 2019 was unforgettable, and since then he’s released some fantastic tracks. He’s instantly recognisable, has a great flow, great lyrics, and a lot of interesting things are happening around him. We appreciate that he wants to return to Pohoda. I’m really looking forward to his concert on Thursday night on the main stage

ARLO PARKS may only be a few years into her twenties, but her incredible talent can’t be quantified. She made a splash in the music scene in 2021 with her debut album, “Collapsed in Sunbeams,” earning her the BRIT Award for Newcomer of the Year, the Mercury Prize, and a Grammy nomination, among others.

Arlo makes beautiful songs that blend indie pop with soul, R&B and folk. Her lyrics tackle the issues facing young people in today’s world, leading many to call her the most poetic singer of our time.

In May, she released her second album, My Soft Machine, which featured collaborations with world-class producers and a guest appearance by Phoebe Bridges. You can also hear Arlo in the song “Tangerine” by Glass Animals.

ARLO PARKS is one of the musical gems of contemporary indie pop, so we highly recommend her concert at Pohoda 2024.

I happened to catch Arlo in September at a sold-out concert at the iconic Ancienne Belgique in Brussels. While I only knew a few of her songs, I was pleasantly surprised by how she captivated such a large audience with her soothing and mellow music. Since then, I’ve been regularly playing her music at home – it has a calming effect on me and lifts my spirits. Bonus points to her for having an all-female technical crew at the concert 🙂
