The sounds of Primavera Sound will once again echo in Porto. The spirit that was born in Barcelona in 2001 will travel once again to the Portuguese city from 11th to 14th June for the 13th edition of the festival, which will take place in the Parque da Cidade and feature a diverse and exciting lineup that has just been announced. 55 artists are connected by the unmistakable identity of Primavera Sound, which can be felt throughout a lineup where everything matters. From A to Z, and vice versa: Primavera Sound Porto 2026 will also be a great musical panorama.
With a video by Vampire Films and VETA, the Portuguese event unveils a dazzling line-up that celebrates its own history with several eagerly awaited reunions, while also focusing on artistic proposals that look to the future. Solidly established as a middle ground between its connection with Barcelona and its own recognisable identity, Primavera Sound Porto officially begins its journey towards 2026.
The road to 2026. Guiding us along that road are THE XX, GORILLAZ and MASSIVE ATTACK, three headliners who are not always easy to keep track of. Romy, Oliver Sim and Jamie xx will confirm their long-awaited return to Parque da Cidade, fourteen years after their last performance at the festival; the virtual troupe led by Damon Albarn will present The Mountain, their upcoming album; and the forever elusive, forever necessary Bristol duo will extend their Primavera Sound debut to Portugal.
Alongside them, the deafening IDLES, the unfailing folk-rock machine BIG THIEF, the preacher ETHEL CAIN and the hit collector BAD GYAL lead a lineup that also features the pop sensation JADE, the militant KNEECAP and SLOWDIVE, pioneers of shoegaze whose legacy will coexist along with the visionary musical language of DIJON, OKLOU, AMAARAE and RUSOWSKY. The future is already ringing out at Primavera Sound Porto thanks to them.
Usual singularity. As more than fifty artists go a long way, next year’s festival will also bring together the orchestral Black dance music of SUDAN ARCHIVES and the noise-rock of MELT-BANANA, the black metal of AGRICULTURE and the digital rap- of FAKEMINK, the fados from GISELA JOÃO and the psychedelic songbook of PANDA BEAR, the hyper-rock by WATER FROM YOUR EYES and the counter-current folk of ANNAHSTASIA, the afro-jazz by CRIOLO, AMARO & DINO and the rock made in Argentina by BESTIA BEBÉ, the nostalgic hip-hop by JOEY VALENCE & BRAE and the punk-funk of VIAGRA BOYS, the deconstructed EDM by NINAJIRACHI and the post-hardcore of TEXAS IS THE REASON. This broad-mindedness, this diversity that is only possible at Primavera Sound, connects Porto with Barcelona… but that does not prevent the Portuguese edition from featuring performances by IDLES, BLACK COUNTRY, NEW ROAD, NATION OF LANGUAGE and MODEL/ACTRIZ, four bands that will only be at next year’s Porto festival. It is a uniqueness that has already become the norm.
Musical exchange since 2012. Once again, Primavera Sound Porto will be a space conducive to musical exchange, as it has been since its inception in 2012. And it’s not just BAD GYAL and RUSOWSKY who will be representing the Spanish scene on Portuguese soil. TRIÁNGULO DE AMOR BIZARRO and AIKO EL GRUPO will also be performing at the festival, which will of course once again serve as a showcase for some valuable Portuguese acts such as NAPA, PAUS, EMMY CURL, RITA VIAN, CAPICUA and INÊS MARQUES LUCAS.
Thursday, Friday, Saturday… and Sunday. For the second consecutive year, the Primavera Bits electronic music festival will bring Primavera Sound Porto to a close. After hosting the three main days on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the Parque da Cidade site will become an open-air dance floor on Sunday 14th June with sessions by PEGGY GOU, DIXON, XINOBI and SuM. The 13th edition of the festival will end with dancing.
