You can’t compete in creativity, but if you could, KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD would thrash the competition. Since forming in 2010, the eccentric Melbourne sextet released no less than 20 studio albums, 14 live records and 3 EP’s. During 2022 they released 5 records so guessing what songs they will perform at Way Out West this summer is a tall order.
SAM FENDER already had it all. The purpose, the stories, the looks, the skills, and the voice. But writing a song like ‘Seventeen Going Under’ has consequences. In Fender’s case it meant metamorphosing from a promising streetwise British songwriter with a fondness for modernized, euphoric Springsteen-rock to being one of the most celebrated contemporary musicians around.
