From May 22nd to 25th, 2026, the Ikarus Festival returns to Allgäu Airport Memmingen, an hour from Munich. Around 130,000 visitors and over 150 national and international artists are expected across eight stages. Headliners at southern Germany’s largest camping festival include BUNT., HBZ, HOLY PRIEST, IKKIMEL, KLANGKÜNSTLER, PAUL KALKBRENNER, SCHROTTHAGEN, SCOOTER and SKI AGGU. The festival takes place over the Pentecost weekend, and Ikarus Monday is a public holiday in all German states.
With the Ikarus Festival 2026, we are consistently developing the festival further: new stage concepts, new areas, and a lineup that reflects the entire spectrum of electronic music. Our goal is to sustainably combine musical diversity and a high-quality experience – Bastian Schleich, Managing Director of Permanent Entertainment GmbH.
The release of the line-up on Tuesday underscores the musical diversity of the Ikarus Festival for 2026. From EDM to Techno, Bounce, and Melodic Techno, all the way to Hard Techno, Hardstyle, and Psytrance, the festival offers a stylistic diversity that is consistently reflected in the stage layout.
Structural innovations and a newly developed wooded area A key highlight for 2026 is the development of a new wooded area on the festival grounds. The Onos Stage will relocate to this area and receive a new design. The stage will also be complemented by a newly created chill-out area. The Nox Stage will move to the previous location of the Onos Stage and will have a newly designed area that connects more closely with the surrounding grounds, both spatially and visually.
The Minos Tent will also be reimagined for 2026: The stage concept places the artists in the centre, with the audience surrounding the performance and creating a particularly intense club atmosphere. On Friday, the Hade Cage will become the stage for a face-to-face (F2F) format, where two artists meet simultaneously and head-on. This format, especially in hard techno, is known for maximum energy and interaction.
The 2026 mainstage design is titled “The Temple of Invention” and offers a fresh interpretation of Greek mythology: An ancient temple motif with monumental columns and iconic wing elements forms the visual centerpiece of the festival.
New Experience Offerings as a Central Component of the Festival In addition to the new stage features, the Ikarus Festival is focusing on new experience areas that integrate Greek mythology as a guiding design principle in the decoration and spatial design. Helicopter flights over the festival grounds create an extraordinary experience – the highest festival floor in the world. The infrastructure has also been improved: The open-air festival is now more weather-resistant overall. Among other things, the main stage will for the first time feature a fully paved surface to further enhance comfort and safety for the audience.
