The first wave of artists for two of Germany’s biggest summer festivals has been announced, with Hurricane and Southside both revealing an impressive selection of names for 2027.
Taking place on the same weekend, from 18th to 20th June 2027, the two festivals will once again bring a mix of major international artists, established favourites and some of the more exciting names from the current alternative music scene.
Leading the first announcement are British rock giants MUSE, alongside MGK and PHOEBE BRIDGERS.
MUSE will be a particularly big attraction for rock fans, with the band known for their huge live productions and spectacular festival performances. MGK brings his own mix of rock, punk and hip hop to the weekend, while PHOEBE BRIDGERS offers something very different with her distinctive alternative sound and acclaimed songwriting.
There is plenty more for rock and alternative fans to look forward to, with PIERCE THE VEIL, I PREVAIL, DROPKICK MURPHYS, SIMPLE PLAN and THE INTERRUPTERS all included in the first wave.
The announcement also has a strong German presence with FEINE SAHNE FISCHFILET, GIANT ROOKS, PAULA HARTMANN, DEINE COUSINE, APSILON, IKKIMEL and MEHNERSMOOS are among the artists confirmed, alongside ANGINE DE POITRINE and SOFIA ISELLA.
With 17 acts already announced, both festivals have made a strong start to their 2027 programmes, covering everything from alternative and indie to punk, rock, hip hop and pop.
Hurricane Festival will once again take over the Eichenring in Scheeßel, while Southside Festival returns to Neuhausen ob Eck. Both events will run from Friday 18th June through to Sunday 20th June.

For anyone planning a German festival trip next summer, the announcements also create an interesting choice. The two festivals share the same core line-up, but each has its own atmosphere and audience, making them two of the key events to keep an eye on as the 2027 festival season takes shape.
And this is only the first wave!
More artists are expected to be announced for both Hurricane and Southside in the coming months, so the final line-ups are likely to look considerably bigger by the time June arrives.
