After nine years, the unique virtual animated band GORILLAZ is returning to the Czech Republic as one of the headliners of the Rock for People festival!
Created by musician Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett, GORILLAZ is singer 2D, bassist Murdoc Niccals, drummer Russel Hobbs, and Japanese guitar prodigy Noodle. The authors of hits such as “Clint Eastwood,” “Feel Good Inc.,” and “DARE” have won Grammy and BRIT awards, among others. The band was formed following a collision of mishaps, meetings, and pure luck to blow up a pre-digital world with their colourful backstory and ground-breaking virtual ways.
The band’s recent acclaimed run of London shows to celebrate 25 years of Gorillaz saw The Guardian declare: “Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett’s cartoon band are still riveting and relevant”, with London’s Evening Standard adding “Albarn and Hewlett are still legions ahead of the pack,”, and The Observer headline proclaim “Gorillaz stun in star-studded show of lush visuals and borderless music.” Gorillaz’ new studio album The Mountain will be released in 2026.
Fan favorites LIMP BIZKIT are returning to the Rock for People 2026 stage for the first time since 2015!
LIMP BIZKIT is one of the most famous bands of the nu-metal era. Founded in Florida in 1994 by frontman Fred Durst, the band quickly rose to fame due to their unique blend of metal, hip-hop, and alternative rock. Hits such as “Break Stuff” and their cover of “Behind Blue Eyes” topped the charts, and their energetic concerts have been thrilling fans around the world for over twenty years.
Their music is marked by Durst’s angry vocal delivery and Borland’s sonic experimentation. Borland’s elaborate visual appearance, which includes face and body paint, masks, and uniforms, also plays a large role in the band’s live shows.
The band has been nominated for three Grammy Awards, has sold 40 million records worldwide, and has won several other awards. Despite a period of decline after 2005, LIMP BIZKIT returned to the scene and continued to prove that their mix of energy, sarcasm, and hard groove still has its place. Their latest album, Still Sucks (2021), showed that they can take themselves with a grain of salt and with typical Bizkit humor.
