The Southside Festival (simply known as Southside) is an annual music festival that takes place near Tuttlingen, Germany, usually every June. The festival as well as its artists and audiences are generally associated within the alternative part of popular music.
The Hurricane Festival, often referred to as the “sister” of Southside, takes place on the same three days in the very north of Germany (contrary to Southside, which is in the very south).
The name Southside refers to Southern Germany where the festival takes place. Festival organizers are FKP Scorpio and KOKO & DTK Entertainment. The festival site consists of 800,000 square meters of former military and airport precincts and features four stages. The festival first took place on the former military airport of Neubiberg (Munich) with approximately 15,000 visitors. In 2002, the number of visitors had risen to 30,000 and kept rising up to 60,000.

The area of the take-off commercial park was used as a military and airfield area for army aviation until 1994. After the location was closed, the Neuhausen ob Eck/Tuttlingen commercial park association that was founded for this purpose acquired the 143 hectare site in 1997. The intermunicipal merger between the city of Tuttlingen and the municipality of Neuhausen ob Eck has set itself the task of jointly developing an intermunicipal industrial area.
The take-off GewerbePark was created in 1997 as an inter-municipal project between the city of Tuttlingen and the municipality of Neuhausen ob Eck. The area has a very scenic location between the Upper Danube Valley and Lake Constance.
The park-like facility offers innovative company founders exceptionally good conditions to start their own business. Established companies find an area for expansion or relocation where they can react very flexibly to the requirements of corporate development.
