The Queen of Christmas pop and one of rock’s most celebrated guitarists are heading to Tuscany, as LUCCA SUMMER FESTIVAL adds two major names to its landmark 2027 edition.
LUCCA SUMMER FESTIVAL is already shaping up for a big summer, with MARIAH CAREY and SANTANA the latest international stars confirmed for the Italian festival’s 30th anniversary celebrations. The two artists bring very different sounds to the historic Tuscan city, but both have spent decades building catalogues packed with songs that have crossed generations.
MARIAH CAREY will take to the stage on 11th July 2027, making her first appearance at LUCCA SUMMER FESTIVAL and her only Italian date. A week later, the focus shifts from pop to guitar-driven rock as SANTANA arrives on 18th July with his Planet of Free Will Global Tour 2027. It will be the legendary guitarist’s third appearance at LUCCA SUMMER FESTIVAL, renewing a relationship with the event during a particularly significant anniversary year.
For more than five decades, SANTANA has built a distinctive sound around the fusion of rock, blues, jazz and Afro-Latin rhythms. His guitar work has become instantly recognisable, while the success of Supernatural introduced his music to another generation at the turn of the millennium. The two concerts will take place against the backdrop of Lucca’s historic city walls, one of the festival’s most striking settings.
