Jack Johnson Kicks Off Eden Sessions 2027 With Two Shows In Cornwall

UK Jack Johnson confirmed for Eden Sessions 2027

The Eden Sessions are celebrating a major milestone in 2027, and they’re starting with a double dose of laid-back Californian sunshine. JACK JOHNSON has been announced as the first artist for next summer’s series, confirming two performances at the Eden Project in Cornwall on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd July.

The announcement launches the 25th anniversary year of the Eden Sessions, with Johnson returning to one of the UK’s most distinctive live music venues for a pair of outdoor shows beneath the iconic Biomes. After three previous sell-out appearances in 2011, 2018 and 2023, he is coming back for a fourth visit, this time with an extra night to give more fans the chance to experience his music in this extraordinary setting.

And with longtime friends DONAVON FRANKENREITER and G. LOVE joining him as special guests, the first booking already has the feel of a summer evening built around great songs, good company and a relaxed atmosphere.

JACK JOHNSON RETURNS FOR A SPECIAL DOUBLE BILL
Few artists are as closely associated with sun-soaked acoustic songwriting as JACK JOHNSON. The Hawaiian-born singer-songwriter first built his musical identity around a blend of folk, soft rock and surf culture, developing a sound that feels effortlessly warm without sacrificing memorable melodies or thoughtful lyrics.

His catalogue includes much-loved tracks such as “Better Together”, “Banana Pancakes”, “Upside Down” and “Good People”. These are songs that have travelled well beyond their original audience, becoming staples of summer playlists and soundtracks to countless road trips, beach days and slow mornings.

Johnson’s musical career has always been closely connected to his life beyond the stage, particularly his love of surfing, filmmaking and environmental causes. His upcoming SURFILMUSIC tour brings those interests together, following a documentary exploring his journey from surfer and filmmaker to internationally recognised musician.

The Eden Sessions shows form part of the tour’s European summer run, making Cornwall one of only two UK stops announced for 2027, alongside London’s O2.

OLD FRIENDS, FAMILIAR SOUNDS AND A CORNISH SUMMER
Adding to the appeal, DONAVON FRANKENREITER and G. LOVE will join Johnson as special guests on both nights.

Frankenreiter also made the journey from professional surfing into music, building a career around laid-back songwriting and bluesy, roots-inspired sounds. G. LOVE brings his own distinctive mix of hip-hop, blues, funk and soul, creating a natural fit with the relaxed, groove-led spirit of the wider bill.

The three artists share more than a musical connection. Their histories overlap through surfing, friendship and a creative outlook that places community and shared experiences at the centre of their work. That makes this line-up feel like more than a collection of support acts: it is a meeting of artists whose worlds have been intertwined for years.  For fans, the result should be a particularly cohesive evening, moving between acoustic favourites, blues-inflected grooves and the kind of singalong moments that work beautifully in an open-air setting.

WHY THE EDEN SESSIONS ARE DIFFERENT
Set within the landscape of the Eden Project, the Eden Sessions have developed a reputation for offering something different from the standard outdoor concert experience. The dramatic Biomes provide a distinctive backdrop, while the venue’s natural surroundings give the shows a character that is difficult to replicate in a conventional arena or festival field.

The series has welcomed an impressive range of artists over the years, from major international names to influential alternative acts. Its 2026 season included WOLF ALICE, CMAT, SNOW PATROL, BECKY HILL, PIXIES, BASTILLE, BEN HOWARD, THE MACCABEES and MIKA, among others.

Johnson’s announcement is an appropriately relaxed way to begin the next chapter. His music, environmental work and connection to the natural world make him a particularly fitting artist for a venue that places nature and sustainability at the heart of its identity.

Every Eden Sessions ticket also includes free entry to the Eden Project’s gardens and Biomes on the day of the concert and the following day, giving visitors the opportunity to turn a gig into a longer Cornish escape.
