The Chemical Brothers Are Back! Open’er 2027 Goes Big!

Opener Festival Poland 2027 Chemical Brothers news

A quarter of a century after playing the festival’s very first edition, THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS are returning to Open’er for a headline show. Add ELLIE GOULDING, 5 SECONDS OF SUMMER, ADÉLA and UNDERSCORES to the mix, and Poland’s biggest festival is building a seriously exciting summer line-up.

Open’er Festival has delivered another heavyweight announcement for 2027, and there is one name that comes with a particularly special backstory. Electronic music legends THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS are heading back to Gdynia, exactly 25 years after performing at the festival’s inaugural edition.

The duo will headline Thursday night, 1st July, closing the Orange Main Stage with the kind of full-scale live production that has made them one of electronic music’s most celebrated acts. From the explosive beats of Block Rockin’ Beats and Galvanize to the unmistakable rush of Hey Boy Hey Girl, their catalogue was made for enormous crowds and late-night festival moments.

Their return is more than a nostalgic booking. THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS have spent decades pushing the boundaries of electronic music, combining pounding rhythms, psychedelic visuals and spectacular live performances into something that goes far beyond a traditional DJ set. Twenty-five years on from their first Open’er appearance, they are coming back to close a chapter that began at the very start of the festival’s story.

POP ROYALTY, ROCK ANTHEMS AND SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT
The latest announcement stretches well beyond the dance tent. ELLIE GOULDING brings a catalogue packed with pop anthems, from Lights and Burn to Love Me Like You Do, while Australian hitmakers 5 SECONDS OF SUMMER will make their Open’er debut with the hooks and arena-ready energy that have made them global stars.

There is also plenty to discover. ADÉLA, the Slovakian-born pop provocateur, arrives with a bold, theatrical sound and a growing international following. Meanwhile, UNDERSCORES brings a restless mix of electronic music, hyperpop, indie rock and punk to the Alter Stage, promising something rather less predictable.

It is precisely this clash of sounds that makes Open’er such an appealing prospect. One minute, you could be swept up in a wall of electronic noise; the next, singing along to a huge pop chorus or discovering an artist who could become your next obsession.

A LINE-UP THAT KEEPS GETTING BIGGER
These names join an already intriguing bill featuring TAME IMPALA, SOMBR, THE NEIGHBOURHOOD, RAYE and PATTI SMITH QUARTET. The festival has also signalled a change for 2027, with more headline-level acts planned across the daily bills than in previous editions.

That leaves plenty of room for further surprises, with Open’er promising another announcement featuring artists from different stages in the coming weeks.

Open’er Festival powered by Orange takes place from 30th June to 3rd July 2027 at Gdynia-Kosakowo Airport in Poland.

With The Chemical Brothers returning to where it all began, alongside major pop names and artists pushing music in new directions, Open’er 2027 is shaping up to be four days worth travelling for.
