Chicago is getting ready for another summer of country music, barbecue and big crowds, with Windy City Smokeout returning in 2027 and four major names already confirmed for the line up.
Taking place from 8th to 11th July 2027 outside the United Center, the festival will feature MEGAN MORONEY, FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE, TUCKER WETMORE and RILEY GREEN at the top of the bill.
Windy City Smokeout has carved out its own place on the American festival calendar by mixing live country music with one of the things the city does particularly well: food. Alongside the music, the festival brings together barbecue pitmasters from across the country, making it as much a destination for food lovers as it is for country fans.
FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE RETURN TO CHICAGO
One of the biggest names announced so far is FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE. Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley helped push country music towards a broader mainstream audience with a string of huge hits including Cruise, This Is How We Roll, H.O.L.Y. and May We All.
Their appearance adds a familiar name with plenty of festival history to the 2027 bill, while the rest of the line up represents several different sides of modern country music.
MEGAN MORONEY CONTINUES HER RISE
MEGAN MORONEY has become one of the most recognisable younger artists in country music, building her reputation around candid songwriting and a sound that manages to sit comfortably between contemporary country and more traditional influences.
Her inclusion gives Windy City Smokeout another artist who has made a significant impact on the current generation of country fans.
RILEY GREEN BRINGS A TRADITIONAL EDGE
RILEY GREEN offers something slightly different, with a style rooted firmly in the storytelling traditions of country music. Songs including There Was This Girl, I Wish Grandpas Never Died and Different ‘Round Here have helped establish Green as one of the genre’s prominent modern voices.
TUCKER WETMORE JOINS THE BILL
Also confirmed is TUCKER WETMORE, one of the newer names on the 2027 line up. Wetmore has quickly attracted attention with his contemporary take on country, making his appearance at Windy City Smokeout an interesting addition alongside artists with considerably longer careers.

What makes Windy City Smokeout different from a straightforward country festival is the combination of music and barbecue.
Since launching in 2013, the Chicago event has developed into a major summer gathering, pairing performances from established country artists and emerging talent with food from pitmasters travelling from across the United States.
The festival has also been recognised twice as ACM Festival of the Year, underlining its position within the wider country music festival scene.
And there is still plenty of room for the 2027 line up to grow.
The four artists announced so far represent only the beginning, with further performers and festival details still to come. For now, though, FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE, MEGAN MORONEY, RILEY GREEN and TUCKER WETMORE give Windy City Smokeout a strong starting point for its return to Chicago.
