RAYE, Sombr, The Neighbourhood & Patti Smith join Open’er 2027!

Opener festival phase 1 announce 2027 news

Open’er Festival has wasted little time putting together a seriously interesting line-up for 2027, with RAYE, SOMBR, THE NEIGHBOURHOOD and PATTI SMITH joining the previously announced TAME IMPALA.  The Polish festival returns to Gdynia from 30th June to 3rd July 2027, and the latest announcement makes it clear that organisers are taking a broader approach to the headline bill next summer.

TAME IMPALA will open the festival on Wednesday, followed by SOMBR on Thursday, THE NEIGHBOURHOOD on Friday and RAYE on Saturday. PATTI SMITH will also appear with the Patti Smith Quartet on Thursday.

And there is an interesting change behind the scenes too. Open’er says that, for 2027, it is moving away from having just one or two headline acts at the top of the bill, with up to three headliners potentially appearing each day.

That could make the final line-up considerably larger than previous editions.

SOMBR ARRIVES AS ONE OF POP’S FASTEST RISING NAMES
New York artist SOMBR has enjoyed a remarkably quick rise, moving from bedroom-style songwriting and self-production to becoming one of the most talked-about young artists in pop. His breakthrough came with back to friends, which became a global streaming success, while his debut album I Barely Know Her has pushed his profile even further.

His appearance at Open’er comes at an interesting point in his career, with the festival giving Polish audiences the chance to catch him as his international audience continues to grow.

RAYE RETURNS TO POLAND
RAYE needs little introduction these days – The British singer has become one of the most distinctive voices in modern pop, blending jazz, R&B, soul, hip-hop and dance music with brutally honest songwriting. Her breakthrough album My 21st Century Blues produced the huge hit Escapism, while her extraordinary run at the BRIT Awards confirmed her status as one of the UK’s leading artists.

She will close Open’er 2027’s main stage programme on Saturday.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD ARE BACK!
Friday brings the return of THE NEIGHBOURHOOD, the California indie-rock band behind Sweater Weather and the platinum-selling album I Love You.  The band’s dark, atmospheric take on alternative rock has earned them a huge following, and their inclusion gives the 2027 bill a distinctly different flavour from the electronic and pop acts surrounding them.

PATTI SMITH BRINGS GENUINE HISTORY
Then there is Patti Smith – Few names on any festival poster carry quite the same weight. Smith helped shape the New York punk and alternative scene in the 1970s, with her debut album Horses becoming one of the defining records of the era.

More than five decades after that record arrived, Smith continues to perform, write and create, making her appearance at Open’er one of those bookings that connects the festival’s contemporary line-up with the artists who helped change popular music in the first place.

She will perform with the PATTI SMITH QUARTET on Thursday.
