Berlin is getting ready to turn a corner of the city into Little Nashville once again, as Country 2 Country returns in March 2027 with two days of live music at the Uber Eats Music Hall and across the surrounding Uber Platz.
The main festival takes place on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th March, but the C2C weekend actually gets underway a day earlier, with the much loved Bluebird Cafe taking over Berlin’s Passionskirche on Friday 5th March. The Nashville institution brings its songwriter focused format to the German capital, putting the stories behind the songs firmly in the spotlight.
For anyone who knows C2C, the Bluebird Cafe is a particularly fitting way to begin the weekend. Rather than relying on a huge stage and elaborate production, the format is built around songwriters, storytelling and stripped back performances. It offers a very different experience from the main festival and gives the Berlin weekend its own identity.
Then, on Saturday, ASHLEY MCBRYDE takes the headline slot at the Uber Eats Music Hall.
MCBRYDE has become one of the most respected artists in modern country music, and her Berlin appearance gives the opening day a headliner capable of moving comfortably between traditional country songwriting and the bigger sound of contemporary Nashville.
She will be joined by COOPER ALAN, CARTER FAITH, BLAKE WHITEN and MACK GEIGER, while the CMA Spotlight Stage adds another group of artists to discover, including LATE NIGHT THOUGHTS, OWEN RIEGLING, BELLES and BEC O’MALLEY.
It is a line up that makes plenty of room for newer artists, something that has always been an important part of the C2C format. For festivalgoers willing to move away from the main stage, there should be plenty of opportunities to come across an artist who may be less familiar now but considerably more familiar by the time the next C2C comes around.
JELLY ROLL CLOSES THE WEEKEND!
Sunday brings a very different kind of headline performance, with JELLY ROLL taking over the main stage.
His music has never fitted neatly into one box. Country sits alongside rock, hip hop and Southern influences, helping Jelly Roll build an audience well beyond the traditional country market. That makes him an intriguing choice to close the Berlin festival, particularly alongside a Sunday bill that includes DASHA, EMILY ANN ROBERTS, DREW BALDRIDGE and KASHUS CULPEPPER.
The CMA Spotlight Stage will also feature GREYLAN JAMES, LACI KAYE BOOTH, COLIN LYNCH and CHANDLER WALTERS. The result is a Sunday that moves between different generations and interpretations of country rather than simply following one musical template.
BERLIN BECOMES LITTLE NASHVILLE
There is more to C2C Berlin than what happens inside the main room. The Uber Eats Music Hall and Uber Platz will once again be transformed for the festival, with daytime stages, the CMA Spotlight Stage and other festival activity adding to the main performances. The area becomes “Little Nashville” for the weekend, with artists arriving from
Nashville, the UK and across Europe alongside the major international names.
That wider festival environment is an important part of what makes the Berlin edition different from simply attending a series of country concerts.
You can spend the day discovering an unfamiliar name, grab some food, catch a performance on one of the smaller stages and then head into the main room for the evening’s headline set. It gives C2C more of a festival feel despite taking place in an urban setting.
And Berlin is an appropriate city for that approach. It is a place where different musical cultures regularly overlap, and the C2C format fits naturally into that environment.
A CHANGING CHAPTER FOR C2C GERMANY
The 2027 edition also arrives at an interesting point for C2C in Germany. AEG Presents is once again directly booking and operating the German festival, bringing the event back under the organisation behind the wider C2C brand. The German edition has also introduced a refreshed visual identity and new digital presence as it enters this next stage.
There is a sense, therefore, that C2C Berlin 2027 is about more than simply announcing another collection of artists. It is another step in establishing the festival as a destination in its own right, rather than simply a German stop on a wider country music tour.
The weekend begins quietly with songwriters at the Passionskirche, moves into two full days of performances around Uber Platz and the Uber Eats Music Hall, and finishes with Jelly Roll taking the headline position on Sunday night. For country fans travelling to Berlin, that makes the first weekend of March look less like a couple of concerts and more like a proper three day country music escape.
Berlin’s 2027 C2C weekend is therefore shaping up around two very different headline personalities, a strong collection of emerging country artists and one of the genre’s most recognisable songwriter showcases.
And if the idea of a little Nashville appearing in the middle of Berlin sounds slightly unusual, that is probably part of the appeal.
