John Smith Rock Frozen, which will be held at the Jyväskylä Pavilion on November 27th – 28th 2026, has announced five new bands. In addition to the previously announced EUROPE, the strongest Finnish acts will take to the stage; BEAST IN BLACK, BLOODRED HOURGLASS, BATTLE BEAST and SHIRAZ LANE, as well as the Swedish death metal band, DARK TRANQUILLITY.
“Now, if ever, is a Christmas-themed lineup! With these choices, the Christmas season can’t go wrong, we say. The entire offering fits the gala goer like a shoe that’s too small, meaning the fit is tight – if not perfect!”
The event, which is being held for the fourth time and calls itself “Finland’s Rockiest Christmas,” relies on a tried-and-tested formula with its functional services and good vibes. Like last year, there will also be an acoustic stage, offering slightly rarer encounters with characters who may have previously become familiar from more electronic circles.
“The acoustic stage, which has been given a boost by an interesting program, will follow the same formula in its implementation; more acoustic-inspired gigs but at least the same electronic atmosphere… Things you haven’t seen or will probably never see…”
