Gem & Jam Festival is turning up the heat for 2027, with more than 30 new names joining an already impressive line up for its return to the Arizona desert. TAPE B, OMNOM and VNSSA are among the latest additions, taking the festival beyond 80 artists across a weekend that combines live music, electronic sounds, visual art and the world of gems and minerals.
The 18th edition of Gem & Jam will take place from 5th to 7th February 2027 at Pima County Fairgrounds, just south of Tucson. Following its most successful edition to date, the festival is building on its reputation as something a little different from the usual festival experience, bringing together a wide range of musical styles in a setting surrounded by the striking landscape of the Sonoran Desert.
TAPE B, OMNOM AND VNSSA LEAD THE LATEST ADDITIONS
The latest announcement brings plenty of fresh energy to the bill. TAPE B has become a name to watch in bass music, known for reworking old school hip hop influences into a distinctive electronic sound. OMNOM joins the programme as a special guest, while house favourite VNSSA adds another dimension to the festival’s electronic offering.
They are joined by a long list of new additions, including EQUANIMOUS, ARBOREAL, SPECKZ, 7LEMONS, AJA CRUZ, BAUM, CACTIII, CHKLZ, EYECHRONIC, FE!NEX, FELIX MÜN, FØØL MØØN, GIDORAH, HIPPO, MONTY DUBZ, ONSUMMON, SAVA., SHORTSTACK, SHROODLE and ZOS DA ZEBRA.
The additions span a wide range of sounds, from bass heavy electronic music and experimental productions to funk, house and more unconventional musical territory. That diversity has always been central to Gem & Jam’s identity, with the organisers putting as much emphasis on discovery as they do on established favourites.
A LINE UP THAT REFUSES TO STICK TO ONE GENRE
The new names join a substantial first wave of artists, including GANJA WHITE NIGHT, BALKAN BUMP, BLU DETIGER, THE CALIFORNIA HONEYDROPS PRESENTING SWEET & STICKY AFTER DARK, DANIEL DONATO’S COSMIC COUNTRY, EAZYBAKED, JOSH TEED, LOTUS, MARK FARINA’S MUSHROOM JAZZ JAM, OTT., PLAYER DAVE, RUSS LIQUID, SHIBA SAN, SKYSIA, SMOAKLAND and WRECKNO.
For fans of live instrumentation, DANIEL DONATO’S COSMIC COUNTRY and The California HONEYDROPS offer a welcome change of pace from the electronic stages. Meanwhile, LOTUS, GANJA WHITE NIGHT and SHIBA SAN bring very different approaches to the festival’s broader dance music offering.
There will also be dedicated takeovers from collectives including All, featuring Parkbreezy, Pheel., TF Marz and Alex Unger, alongside a Qualia takeover featuring Daggz, Lowcation and Saturna during the Thursday night pre party.
With more than 80 artists expected across the event, festivalgoers will have plenty of opportunities to discover new music, catch returning favourites and move between styles throughout the weekend.
MORE THAN JUST A MUSIC FESTIVAL
What makes Gem & Jam stand out is the way music sits alongside art, creativity and the festival’s longstanding connection with gems and minerals. The site will feature multiple stages, late night sets, large scale visuals, distinctive stage designs, artist galleries, live painting, immersive installations, daytime workshops and gem and mineral exhibitions.
The festival takes place across the expansive Pima County Fairgrounds, a setting that gives organisers plenty of room to create an experience that extends beyond the stages. Visitors can spend their days exploring the art and workshops before heading into the evening’s performances, with the desert surroundings adding to the atmosphere.
Camping is also a major part of the experience, with options ranging from standard camping and car camping to group camping, glamping, VIP glamping and RV passes. Glamping packages include a pre set up tent, bedding, furniture, an inflatable mattress, a space heater and electricity, while VIP options add further benefits. Three day general admission and VIP tickets are on sale now, with payment plans available. VIP passes include early access to the campgrounds, a preferred car camping area, dedicated viewing areas at the main stages, a chill zone with complimentary snacks and non alcoholic drinks, VIP bathrooms and a festival merchandise gift bag.
A DESERT GATHERING WORTH DISCOVERING
Gem & Jam has built its identity around bringing different creative worlds together, and the 2027 edition looks set to continue that approach. With a line up stretching across electronic music, jam, funk, rock, hip hop, soul and experimental sounds, there should be something for fans who prefer to explore rather than stick to a single genre.
