British rock giants KASABIAN are bringing their signature firepower to the second day of this year’s INmusic festival, stepping in for KINGS OF LEON, who were forced to cancel their European tour due to illness.
Formed in Leicester in 1997 in the bedroom of founding member Serge Pizzorno, KASABIAN have grown into one of the defining acts of modern British rock. Kasabian are: Serge Pizzorno (vocals), Chris Edwards (bass), Ian Matthews (drums), and Tim Carter (guitar). Their self-titled debut album, released in 2004, marked a new era in UK alternative music. The breakthrough came with their second album, ‘Empire’ (2006), which debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart.
The following years saw a series of critically acclaimed releases: ‘West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum’ (2009) earned them a Mercury Prize nomination and a BRIT Award for Best British Group, while albums ‘Velociraptor!’ (2011) and ‘48:13’ (2014) further cemented their place among Europe’s most exciting live acts. After a period of evolution and reinvention, KASABIAN returned in top form with their seventh studio album, and their sixth UK number-one album, ‘The Alchemist’s Euphoria’ (2022).
