Rock Stage Malmö continues its work to highlight both established and new talents in the rock and metal scene. This week, six bands are presented in collaboration with NEMIS – New Music In Sweden, Studiefrämjandet’s national platform for new music. Over the years, NEMIS has been the starting point for a long line of bands that have later taken the step onto the big stages – and now this year’s Malmö Festival acts are stepping into the light!
THRONE OF ROACHES – Horror romance and sludge in perfect symbiosis! Throne of Roaches delivers grinding metal with a cinematic atmosphere and lyrics taken from dystopian dreams. A band that doesn’t just play music – they create a universe.
SUPRALUNAR – The Stockholm band that takes 70s rock on a time travel straight into the future! With a glam rock swing, guitar sparks and big choruses, Supralunar offers a musical explosion with glitter around the edges.
MISS HARRIES – Dark pop rock that breaks hearts and floors the audience. With influences from both Lana Del Rey and Garbage, Miss Harries mixes dirty elegance with heartfelt melancholy – and creates something completely unique.
The next three bands represent three different paths into the world of rock. From introspective indie to punky rock’n’roll and theatrical prog, these bands show the breadth, personality and creative courage of today’s Swedish music scene!
STORHÖVDING – Psychedelic prog theatre meets rock storytelling in this highly unique trio from Ängelholm. With equal parts playfulness, seriousness and musical courage, Storhövding offers a stage expression that never goes on autopilot – each gig is its own little world.
DICK STUNBOLT – Tight, heavy and without frills – Dick Stunbolt delivers swinging rock with autobiographical weight. Think The Hellacopters meets Hüsker Dü, but with his own twist and a hell of an embrace that is felt in both ears and chest.
IGÅR – Sad but proud indie from Skåne – with lyrics that hit where it hurts the most. Yesterday mixes melodic sensitivity with rough nerve, for a sound that lands somewhere between Kent, Hurula and your own heart.
Rock Stage Malmö 2025 continues to grow – new releases every Friday during the spring! Don’t miss the anniversary during the Malmö Festival in August.
