SOMBR’s rise has been moving fast, and it is about to get another major moment. The New York singer, songwriter and producer has been announced for I-Days Milano 2027, where he will perform at the Ippodromo SNAI San Siro on 14th July as part of his You Are The Reason world tour.
For an artist who started out making music in a bedroom studio on New York’s Lower East Side, playing one of Italy’s biggest music events is quite a leap. Just a few years ago, SOMBR was quietly building songs on his own. Now he is selling out major venues, picking up award nominations and preparing to take his music into some of Europe’s biggest arenas.
Born Shane Boose, SOMBR has built his sound around emotionally direct songwriting, indie influences and polished pop production. There is an intimacy to his music that has helped him stand out in an increasingly crowded pop landscape. His songs can feel personal and vulnerable, but they are made for much bigger rooms than the bedroom where they began.
That momentum has accelerated dramatically over the past year. Following a major festival run in Europe, SOMBR has been preparing for an ambitious 2027 tour, with dates across Europe and the UK including multiple nights at London’s O2 Arena. The demand has already been telling, with his original London shows selling out quickly enough to lead to a fifth date being added.
His I-Days appearance comes at the perfect point in that rise. The festival has a long history of bringing major international acts to Milan, having hosted everyone from Arctic Monkeys and Radiohead to Green Day, The Killers, Pearl Jam and Muse. More recently, the event has welcomed artists including Lana Del Rey, Doja Cat, Metallica, Olivia Rodrigo and Linkin Park, while continuing to give a platform to newer artists making serious waves.
SOMBR fits neatly into that tradition. His music sits somewhere between indie pop, alternative and modern mainstream pop, giving him plenty of room to connect with a festival crowd that might not have discovered him through the same route.
There should be plenty of songs for that crowd to latch onto. His breakout material has turned personal experiences into huge, emotionally charged pop moments, while tracks such as “Back to Friends” have helped introduce his sound to listeners around the world.
And if his current trajectory is anything to go by, SOMBR’s I-Days appearance could feel very different by the time July 2027 arrives. The 21-year-old is already stepping up from intimate venues to arenas, with his You Are The Reason tour taking him across Europe before bringing him to Milan.
I-Days 2027 has already announced blink-182 for 13 June, while Bresh is set to perform at the San Siro racecourse on 11 September. SOMBR’s addition gives the festival another strong connection to the new generation of global pop artists.
For SOMBR, though, this is another chance to turn the rapid rise of the past few years into a very big night in Milan. Expect the emotional lyrics, the big choruses and a crowd that may be discovering one of pop’s fastest-rising names for the first time.
