Barcelona Rock Fest confirms the bands SLIPKNOT and ALESTORM on June 26th – 29th at Parc de Can Zam (Santa Coloma de Gramenet, Barcelona)
North American band SLIPKNOT, architects of the metal revolution at the end of the ’90s, returns to Barcelona and to the festival after more than fifteen years. Also joining the lineup are ALESTORM, billed as the best pirate metal band in the world!
Barcelona Rock Fest is proud to announce that two more stellar bands will be joining the already star-studded lineup of SCORPIONS, JUDAS PRIEST and RUNNING WILD, announced just one week ago. Now, festival organisers can reveal that the metal megaband SLIPKNOT will also be one of the festival headliners!
The North American group has not performed in Barcelona for more than fifteen years, and their performance is one of the most highly anticipated by the festival attendees.
SLIPKNOT is one of the acts that revolutionized the metal scene in the 1990s, and helped changed the public perception of rock in general. SLIPKNOT will perform at the festival on Thursday, June 26th. Their Grammy-winning latest album ‘Vol. 3: The Subliminal Verses’ continues to demonstrate the staying power and the raw talent of the band. And with 64 prior award nominations and 27 wins, 30 million sales in albums and videos, and having played at some of the biggest festivals in the world (Download, Rock In Rio, Hellfest, Wacken, more), the band shows no sign of slowing down.
Now, they prepare to celebrate their return to Spain at Barcelona Rock Fest. SLIPKNOT founding member Shawn “Clown” Crahan says:
As we grew as a band, we had fewer and fewer intimate, personal moments, and traded them in for massive ones. So now we’ll make the live experience all more personal — but how remains to be seen! What we are clear about is that the expectations of all our fans will definitely be exceeded. Get ready for a kick in the head, because that’s just what we do – Shawn “Clown” Crahan
While waiting to confirm many more names, today Barcelona Rock Fest has also confirmed the addition of ALESTORM to its lineup. The Scottish metal band specializing in pirate songs has made a name for itself with its take-no-prisoners attitude, and is considered to be the best pirate metal band in the world. Their debut album Captain Morgan&’s Revenge was released in 2008 on Napalm Records, which catapulted them to instant fame in the European metal world and lead to massive tours.
ALESTORM quickly found itself booked for some of the most prestigious festivals in Europe, and the band’s popularity only grew from there. Their critical acclaim increased enormously after the release of 2017 album No Grave But the Sea, featuring what is now their permanent lineup: Christopher Bowes (vocals), Mate Bodor (guitars), Gareth Murdock (bass), Elliot Vernon (keyboards) and Peter Alcorn (drums). In 2022, they released their seventh album, Seventh Rum of a Seventh Rum, which has led them to play their largest concerts and festival tours to date.
Barcelona Rock Fest festival has spent the past nine years bringing the best international rock, hard rock, and metal acts to die-hard rock fans in the city of Barcelona. The 2025 edition of the festival will take place on June 26th, 27th, 28th and 29th in Parc de Cam Zam in Santa Coloma de Gramenet (Barcelona).
New additions to the Barcelona Rock Fest 2025 lineup are still to be announced!
