It all started over thirty years ago at the legendary London club Splash, just off King’s Cross Station. The British guitar scene was looking for new directions, and the band around singer Skin found one of the paths. A unique blend of alternative rock, metal, punk and unmistakable political energy, SKUNK ANANSIE are musical iconoclasts who are not afraid to say things out loud. At its centre stands Skin, a charismatic frontwoman with a voice that can whisper or roar and instantly captivate any audience.
SKUNK ANANSIE are known for their incredibly intense concerts, where the raw power of music, emotions and visual energy merge into one electrifying moment. Hits like Weak, Hedonism, Charlie Big Potato or Because of You sound even sharper, even more urgent live and always with the signature of a band that keeps its face and attitude. They have proven this to the Czech audience several times, most recently in SaSaZ in Prague, where the singer also crowd-surfed. They will also come to Ostrava armed with their new album The Painful Truth, which, thanks to the production of David Sitek, has managed to get very positive reviews.
