Saxon and Rival Sons join there Copenhell line up!

Copenhell Festival 2026 Denmark

Ever since SAXON emerged from the working-class streets of Barnsley in the late 1970s, the band has shaped, defined and carried heavy metal forward with a tenacity bordering on the legendary. They were at the forefront when the New Wave of British Heavy Metal swept across the world and changed everything, blasting their way into the UK Top 5 with their debut album Wheels of Steel in 1980.

At the centre has always stood Biff Byford, one of heavy metal’s most recognisable and beloved frontmen. Behind him, SAXON has over four decades built a lineup that today includes guitar veteran Doug Scarratt, drumming powerhouse Nigel Glockler, who has been with the band since 1981, and bassist Nibbs Carter, who has been on board since 1988. Diamond Head guitarist Brian Tatler joined the ranks a few years ago as well, and the band is currently performing in their strongest lineup ever.

SAXON will play their concert on Saturday, June 27 at COPENHELL.

Unfortunately, THE PRETTY RECKLESS has canceled their performance at COPENHELL this summer. RIVAL SONS will take over their slot on the Hades stage on Thursday, June 25.

RIVAL SONS delivers rock’n’roll in its purest and most magnificent form. The band emerged in Long Beach, California in 2009 with a razor-sharp focus on keeping classic rock alive and after more than 15 years, seven albums and countless sold-out shows, they have more than delivered on that promise. With frontman Jay Buchanan, the band possesses one of modern rock’s most remarkable voices – one that moves effortlessly from intimate, raw whispers to colossal screams. The instrumental section is heavily loaded on all fronts, and the band plays with an energy, passion and weight that can be felt all the way to the back rows.

With releases such as Pressure & Time, Head Down, Darkfighter and Lightbringer, RIVAL SONS has built a songbook that spans everything from crushing, heavy grooves to fragile, melodic moments that lodge themselves deep in the body. You can look forward to classic rock’n’roll with a modern edge, delivered with extreme intensity and presence!
