Running from 28 – 30 November on Wadawurrung Country, in the historic Victorian seaside town of Queenscliff, just a cool 90-minute drive from Melbourne and 35km from Geelong, the Queenscliff Music Festival is set for three unforgettable days of music, community and coastal charm.
Joining an already stacked lineup that boasts the likes of THE CAT EMPIRE, THELMA PLUM, DONAVON FRANKENREITER (USA), THE WAIFS, KING STINGRAY, LITTLE BIRDY and COSMIC PSYCHOS IS THE PREATURES.
THE PREATURES have returned after making their mark in the early 2010s with a genre-blending sound that fused 60s R&B, indie pop and rock. Their breakout hit Is This How You Feel? Propelled them on to the global stage and was followed by a string of accolades and international festival appearances off the back of their acclaimed debut album Blue Planet Eyes. Tex Perkins and Matt Walker team up for their soul-soaked show that blends co-written originals, heartfelt covers and classics from Tex’s legendary back catalogue, including tracks from The Cruel Sea and Beasts of Bourbon.
ARIA-nominated duo MAMA KIN SPENDER bring their fiery mix of percussion, harmony and raw emotion, delivering primal, powerful performances built on life’s joys and scars. Their acclaimed albums Golden Magnetic and Are You Listening? showcase their storytelling and sonic chemistry.
Alt pop icon turned Americana torchbearer ELLA HOOPER also joins the bill, with a legacy that spans Killing Heidi and an award-winning solo career that has seen her collaborate with Stevie Nicks and Jim Lauderdale, Ella’s current sound is rich, rootsy and full of heart.
THE BADLOVES are one of Australia’s most cherished bands, with a 30-year career that has seen the group deliver hit after hit, including Lost, Green Limousine, Slave, Caroline and a cover of The Weight with Jimmy Barnes, seeing the group win three ARIA’s and two Australian Music Awards.
Rounding out the second announcement are psychedelic soul groover VELVET TRIP, antipodean songwriter SKYSCRAPER STAN & THE COMMISSION FLATS, blues torchbearers DOM TURNER & THE RURAL BLUES PROJECT, Afro-futurist funk collective COOL OUT SUN, garage-psych favourites BONES & JONES, indie-folk dream weaver ROMANIE, rising neo-soul voice LEWIS LOVE, indie-folk storyteller MADELIENE COPE, tender-hearted country artist RUBY MAE, the blues and roots collective THE MOJO CORNER and beloved family entertainer PETER COMBE.
