The superb slate of artists newly confirmed to appear at the multi-genre music extravaganza are Brazilian pop/samba star SEU JORGE; gospel titan, ISRAEL HOUGHTON; R&B/gospel stalwart, CORY HENRY; venerable jazz chanteuse, CÉCILE MCLORIN SALVANT; reggae pioneers, THE WAILERS; hip-hop producer extraordinaire, ROGÉT CHAHAYED; critically-lauded jazz pianist JUSTIN KAUFLIN, dynamic Afro-Cuban funk innovator, CIMAFUNK; famed Brazilian song stylist, LIA DE ITAMARACÁ; Miami’s own alt-pop favorite, EMILY ESTEFAN; fast-rising producer/drummer, ADRIAN COTA and heralded pianist/composer, MATHIS PICARD.

The headliner schedule for the maiden three-day event will feature an opening day performance from JON BATISTE, co-owner of the festival who has enjoyed a sensational, multi-faceted career, ranging from leader of Stephen Colbert’s house band to Oscar-winning co-composer of the Pixar film Soul. Slated to headline back-to-back on March 2 are Brazilian luminaries DANIELA MERCURY, the charismatic Latin Grammy® winner who appeared at Montreux four times and singer, songwriter, and actor SEU JORGE. Rock And Roll Hall of Famer DARYL HALL, who recorded dozens of classics, will top the bill on March 3.

JON BATISTE will be joined onstage by ISRAEL HOUGHTON, who has won six Grammys®; and CÉCILE MCLORIN SALVANT, revered jazz siren and double Grammy® awardee born in Miami. Rounding out Batiste’s esteemed stageside guests will be LIA DE ITAMARACÁ, a legendary songstress from Brazil who will be making her U.S. debut at the festival.

The Montreux Jazz Festival is a truly magical experience for artists and music lovers of all kinds. I’m honored to play a part in bringing this experience across the ocean to Miami and challenging the borders of musical genres. It’s going to be an unforgettable three days.

As a re-creation of the singular intimacy of Montreux, Switzerland, Montreux Jazz Festival Miami will take place in The Hangar, a 1500-person, waterfront venue in Coconut Grove that was once a World War I naval air station. Apart from the performances at The Hangar, the festival programming will sport music masterclasses and the Legendary Montreux Jam Sessions, where world-class musicians get together to create magical music moments. The festival experience will also include curated dining options from some of Miami’s best restaurants as well as a pop-up of the famed vinyl listening bar, Dante’s HiFi.

Also performing on March 1 is JUSTIN KAUFLIN, a supremely talented jazz pianist and composer who Quincy Jones said, “can play like you never heard in your life.” Filling out the opening date roster will be ROGÉT CHAHAYED, an eight-time Grammy® nominee, who Billboard magazine called “one of hip-hop and pop’s most dependable hit machines.”

Set to appear on March 2 is CIMAFUNK, a critically-praised live performer and double Grammy® nominee whose 2021 Grammy®-nominated album El Alimento boasted features by George Clinton and Chucho Valdés. Mexican music prodigy ADRIAN COTA will open the evening, accompanied by the WINSTON HOUSE BAND.

On March 3, THE WAILERS are scheduled to perform, as well as Grammy winner, CORY HENRY, who last year notched his first Latin Grammy® award; EMILY ESTEFAN, a gifted multi-instrumentalist who penned a song that was included in hit Broadway production On Your Feet, and MATHIS PICARD, a pianist/composer who is a member of the Montreux Jazz Artists Foundation and whose shows spotlight his roots in jazz, classical and electronic music.

As a city of cultural connection, Miami naturally lends itself to the musical diversity that Montreux has become synonymous with. We believe that the waterfront location and the artists performing in this first edition are a true reflection of the original Montreux Jazz Festival experience.
