Three new acts have been added to the Pohoda Festival 2025 line up in Slovakia – MASSIVE ATTACK, THE KILLS and FOALAMOUR!
The Thursday programme for next year’s Pohoda Festival will spotlight the legendary trip-hop band MASSIVE ATTACK, who made their return to concert stages this year after a five-year break. We can expect nearly two hours of iconic tracks, including “Teardrop”, “Unfinished Sympathy”, and “Karmacoma”.
Fronted by Robert “3-D” Del Naja and Grant “Daddy G” Marshall, Massive Attack emerged from Bristol’s vibrant underground scene, known for its non-mainstream approach to music, graffiti art, subcultural crossover and activism. While the band avoids being tied to specific labels, critics often credit them as the founders of trip-hop – a genre that offered an alternative to the pop and Britpop sounds of the 1990s. It is characterised by a unique combination of slow tempos, melancholic atmosphere, deep basslines, a fusion of hip-hop beats and soulful melodies, and innovative sampling techniques.
The album Mezzanine, along with the debut Blue Lines, is recognised as one of the 500 greatest albums of all time, and has earned five Brit Awards nominations, including Best Album and Best Video for the song “Teardrop”.
Minimalism with maximum impact – that’s the best way to describe the Anglo-American duo THE KILLS, who strip rock ‘n’ roll down to its rawest essence. With their unmistakably gritty sound, driven by Jamie Hince’s guitar and Alison Mosshart’s vocals, they are redefining what rock can be in the 21st century.
Their music has evolved from the blues-punk of their debut album Keep on Your Mean Side (2003), through the blend of garage rock, hip-hop, and electro-pop on Midnight Boom (2008), to their sixth gritty and dramatic album, God Games (2023).
Over more than two decades, THE KILLS have become international rock icons, racking up hundreds of millions of streams. Their music has been featured in countless TV series and films, including the Oscar-nominated Children of Men. They are a rare force of nature, capable of touring with bands like Queens of the Stone Age or Guns N’ Roses. The duo’s musical brilliance is further underscored by their collaborations and side projects. Alison has appeared on tracks like “Meds” (Placebo) and “Riot City Blues” (Primal Scream) and collaborated with Jack White to form the supergroup The Dead Weather. Meanwhile, Jamie performed a series of concerts as part of Iggy Pop’s backing band, who is also set to perform at Pohoda 2025.
From Sydney to New York. One of the biggest names in the French electronic scene, FOLAMOUR has already graced many dance floors all around the world. In July 2025, he will rock it at Pohoda.
French DJ and producer FOLAMOUR has over 170 million video views since the release of his debut album Unami in 2017 and he has entertained with his sets many, not only in the clubs and boiler room streams, but also at festivals such as Glastonbury, Tomorrowland and Coachella. His dynamic performances have conquered both the underground house scene as well as the big dance venues.
FOLAMOUR offers his own perception of electronic music, rooted in soul, funk, disco, jazz, afrobeat and pop. The multi-instrumentalist and classical music fan demolishes established ideas of what house or disco should sound like. The defined keywords of his work are unity, tolerance, sharing and freedom. And this is exactly what can be felt in his live performances, which he often opens with his manifesto about humanity and friendship.
