Maribou State announced as LIDO Festival’s first 2026 headliner!

Maribou State headline Lido Festival UK 2026

LIDO Festival, the newest highlight on London’s summer calendar, today unveils its first 2026 headliner MARIBOU STATE will headline on Saturday 20 June alongside a full line-up to be announced. The second edition of London’s acclaimed sustainable music festival returns to Victoria Park in 2026 following its successful debut in June of this year.

“We’ve made some of our best memories touring in London, from our first ever show at Oslo through to playing Alexandra Palace earlier this year. We’re over the moon to announce our biggest show yet in the city next summer, alongside a line up of some of our favourite artists. This is going to be special. See you all next June – Maribou State

MARIBOU STATE are Hertfordshire-born duo Chris Davids and Liam Ivory, celebrated for crafting genre-fluid soundscapes that merge organic instrumentation, grooves and atmospheric textures. Since 2011, the duo have established themselves as major players on the global dance music circuit, performing roadblock shows at Glastonbury to the Sydney Opera House, as well as back-to-back sold-out UK, EU and North American tours. The Guardian’s 4-star review of their 2025 tour praised the show “full of committed, emotionally resonant performances”.

The duo have released three studio albums: Portraits (2015), Kingdoms In Colour (2018) and Hallucinating Love (2025) and collaborated with an array of artists, including Holly Walker, North Downs, Khruangbin, Andreya Triana and Gaidaa, blending their electronic sound with diverse vocal and instrumental talents. In the context of electronic music and live performances, Maribou State is often credited with bringing a deeply emotive, organic dimension to the modern downtempo / electronica space – balancing dancefloor sensibility with introspective nuance.

LIDO Festival’s first edition welcomed headline performances from Massive Attack (6 June), Jamie xx (7 June), Outbreak Fest with headliner Turnstile (13 June), Charli XCX (14 June), and London Grammar (15 June), offering a meticulously curated line-up of artists, blending established names with rising talent. The festival’s first-ever midweek programme In the neighbourhood provided free arts and wellbeing activities for the local community, reinforcing LIDO’s commitment to cultural enrichment.

LIDO’s first year was an incredible moment for London with exceptional performances, a perfect setting in Victoria Park and a real step forward in how we can deliver live music more sustainably. We’re excited to build on that success and return in 2026. We’re delighted to welcome Maribou State as our first headliner to set the tone for what’s to come… unforgettable live shows with world-class artists, and a festival that truly feels like summer in the city – Jim King, CEO of AEG Presents UK and European Festivals

Launched in summer 2025, LIDO puts artists first and hands them control, for a festival entirely programmed by the headliners. They bring their favourite artists, collaborators, newly tipped artists and their own style to each day. From the acts to the artwork and stage design – every aspect is personal to them. Named after Victoria Park’s Lido Field, the 10-day event offers hand-picked music line-ups with a strong focus on sustainability, as well as community events during the week.

The two-weekend festival not only showcased world-class music but also set a new benchmark for sustainable large-scale events through a landmark green power strategy delivered in partnership with Grid Faeries and Ecotricity, amongst other partners. London’s first main stage powered by a 3MWh solar-charged battery was combined with hydrogen and portable battery technologies, sustainable food concessions, and zero landfill waste management, achieving 32 hours of 100% battery operation and setting a new standard for environmentally driven live events. By embedding sustainability at its core, LIDO Festival aims to redefine what it means to be a responsible, forward-thinking live music event. With an uncompromising focus on reducing environmental impact while delivering an unforgettable experience, LIDO is on the path to becoming not only London’s newest festival but also one of its greenest.
