Måneskin, Royal Blood, Tom Morello & 21 Savage for Super Bock Super Rock!

Super Bock Super Rock Portugal 2024 news

The first bands for this summers Super Bock Super Rock Festival taking place on the 18th – 20th July in Lisbon, Portugal have been revealed – MÅNESKIN, ROYAL BLOOD, TOM MORELLO and 21 SAVAGE.

It’s difficult to find a band with the strength, charisma, irreverence and energy of MÅNESKIN. The quartet formed by Damiano David, Victoria De Angelis, Thomas Raggi and Ethan Torchio began to form when they were still teenagers, on the streets of their beloved hometown, Rome. They quickly caught the attention, thanks to an irresistible sound mix that included echoes of the 70s, with a lot of dance-punk and glam rock, along with the influence of indie rock from the beginning of the 21st century.

First they conquered their own country, Italy, after participating in the X Factor program and the success of their first album: “Il ballo della vita”, released in 2018. Hits such as “Morirò da re,” “Torna a casa” and “L’ altra dimensione” won over the Italian public and raised expectations even further for what would follow. The year 2021 brought a new album, “Teatro d’Ira, Vol. 1”, and also worldwide fame, especially after winning the Eurovision Song Contest, with the theme “Zitti e buoni”. The song already has more than 170 million views, on YouTube alone, and is one of the main rock hits of recent years.

In 2024 they will perform for the first time in Portugal, at Super Bock Super Rock, on July 18th on the Super Bock Stage.

From the beginning, the story of ROYAL BLOOD is above all a story of friendship. This is how it all started between Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher. The same passion for rock brought them together and led them through this extraordinary adventure. The goal has always been to make music for themselves, without great pretensions, without letting themselves be guided by the outside, driven by the love of music and that is still the spirit of the band: confidence, independence and the certainty that they do what they believe in.

In recent years they have cultivated the freedom to embrace other ideas. They let themselves be guided by melodies instead of riffs and rhythms, and did not close the door to other instrumentation solutions that would better serve each of the songs. Basically, they returned to an old and central belief for the duo: Royal Blood’s sound is not defined by a genre or the instruments they play, but by a unique chemistry forged by two friends who love playing together.

One thing is certain for now: there will be no shortage of rock & roll on the Super Bock Stage, on July 18th.

TOM MORELLO is living proof of the transformative power of rock’n’roll and its strength in the 21st century. Known for his groundbreaking guitar solos and gripping chords, Morello is an artist always looking to push the boundaries of music and his own limits, whether in his solo career or as a founding member of rock bands as important as Rage Against the Machine or Audioslave, responsible for several Grammy awards and a total of 30 million records sold worldwide. His characteristic style, exploiting a certain atmospheric distortion and disconcerting guitar effects, was absolutely crucial to the sonic miracle worked by Rage Against the Machine at the end of the 90s, with their unmistakable rap-metal.

TOM MORELLO will be in Portugal for the next edition of Super Bock Super Rock – he will be performing on July 18 on the Super Bock Stage.

21 SAVAGE is one of the most important names in hip-hop culture today. Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph was born in Plaistow, London, in 1992. He moved to Atlanta, Georgia, as a child, and this turned out to be decisive in shaping him as a citizen and artist. As an immigrant, he grew up in disadvantaged neighbourhoods and all this experience gave him a strong social conscience, which is always present in his work. He began to get noticed thanks to mixtapes like “Savage Mode”, in collaboration with producer Metro Boomin. However, the definitive recognition came with the disc “Issa Album”, released in 2017.

He is undoubtedly one of the most notable figures in contemporary pop culture and will be in Portugal on 19 July for this year’s edition of Super Bock Super Rock.
