Gorillaz & The Strokes headline Primavera Sound Buenos Aires & São Paulo

Primavera Sound Argentina Brazil 2026

Primavera Sound confirms its eagerly awaited return to Argentina and Brazil by unveiling the line-ups for its upcoming editions in Buenos Aires and São Paulo, which will take place on 28th and 29th November and 5th and 6th December respectively. The festival will thus return to two cities that are already part of its recent history: just two editions, in 2022 and 2023, were enough to forge a strong bond that has not weakened.

That connection is now further strengthened by a line-up that is fully in harmony with the festival’s unique character, which is already recognised worldwide. Two unmistakable line-ups that capture that distinctive identity which sets Primavera Sound apart in Latin America too. Although its spirit will travel 10,000 kilometres from Barcelona, where Primavera Sound was born in 2001, the festival will feel right at home. It will take place at a site to be revealed shortly in Buenos Aires and at the Interlagos Circuit in São Paulo, a site that already hosted the 2023 edition.

This return will be headlined by GORILLAZ and THE STROKES. The virtual band created by brit pop icon Damon Albarn, who will complete his own Primavera Sound tour after performing at the Primavera Sound festivals in Barcelona and Porto, will present The Mountain in Buenos Aires and São Paulo; while, the New York quintet, whose story continues to be embraced by new generations, will arrive fuelled by Reality Awaits, their first album in six years. Joining them, the chameleonic FKA TWIGS, the ever-visionary YUNG LEAN and LILY ALLEN risen from the ashes to deliver the relentless ‘West End Girl’, the new Euro-country star CMAT and the Australian rock singer-songwriter COURTNEY BARNETT prove that Primavera Sound is back with a signature line-up full of special moments: it will mark the Latin American debut of FKA twigs, Yung Lean and CMAT, as well as Lily Allen’s return to Argentina and Brazil after over fifteen years.

And that means, of course, that it is important to pay just as much attention to the small details as to the big names. The direct connection to Barcelona runs through both line-ups from top to bottom, that see pop from the future through the lens of UNDERSCORES, SMERZ and SOPHIA STEL, that break electronic dance music down into infinite dimensions thanks to DANNY L HARLE, LOS THUTHANAKA and NICK LEÓN; that redefine punk via the presence of agitators such as MODEL/ACTRIZ, MACHINE GIRL and ECCO2K and that even hold surprises such as the presence of CARA DELEVINGNE who is perfectly poised to launch her first musical project.

The line-ups are wrapped up not only by NATION OF LANGUAGE and their synth fantasies, the 3.0 troubadour THIS IS LORELEI, the furious MANNEQUIN PUSSY and JOHN TALABOT, godfather of Barcelona’s club culture, but also by a wide-ranging and rich representation of the Argentine and Brazilian music scenes. While Primavera Sound Buenos Aires will shine a spotlight on JUANA MOLINA’S surrealist songbook, the intergenerational anthems of Santiago Motorizado, the theatrical pop of JULIANA GATTAS and the folk-inspired sound of JUANA AGUIRRE, Primavera Sound São Paulo will do the same with rapper DUQUESA, technobrega diva GABY AMARANTOS, tropical singer-songwriter ZÉ IBARRA, and DJ RAMON SUCESSO, the new master of funk dance.

As well as having the enthusiastic support of the Primavera community, which last October welcomed the confirmation of this return as the start of a countdown—the festival will benefit from the collaboration of established partners at both sites. The cultural promoters PopArt Music and Move Concerts in Argentina and Bonus Track in Brazil are embarking on this project to create the right setting for both editions, both musically and in everything that surrounds them and is also a vital part of what Primavera Sound is all about, wherever it is held. Their experience and expertise ensure that Buenos Aires and São Paulo can once again enjoy a festival that meets internationally recognised quality standards.

With the line-ups now revealed, featuring around forty acts per site, pending the announcement of the parallel programme of concerts in the city, the real countdown begins for Primavera Sound’s reunion with Argentina and Brazil. The festival’s history in both countries will write its third chapter in just seven months.
