With great joy and pride, the first-time festival South Ocean Festival presents its first artist release consisting of two heavy international names – British indie band FLORENCE + THE MACHINE and Norwegian Electronic duo RÖYKSOPP.
The Öresund region’s best music experience South Ocean Festival is ready for a crackling, teeming folk festival on July 7th to 8th. South Ocean Festival is Malmö’s major investment in a music festival that will put the city on the map both nationally and internationally for all music fans.
Now festival general Simon Andersson announces South Ocean Festival’s first artists in summer 2023!
FLORENCE + THE MACHINE – Formerly known as the pop icon of the modern era, authentic London artist Florence Welch is a major name in the modern soul and rock genre. The band is known for combining fragility in their music along with deafening tones that make the listener enjoy themselves in euphoria. FLORENCE + THE MACHINE broke through in the music world with the debut album Lungs in 2009 and topped the UK Albums Charts in 2009 and 2010.
The band is the main act at several major festivals in Europe and makes an exclusive stop in Sweden at the South Ocean Festival.
RÖYKSOPP – The Norwegian electro music duo from Tromsø led by Torbjørn Brundtland and Svein Berge broke through already in the 90s. In addition to its enormous popularity, the band has given Norway international success in the genre of electropop (or electronic dance music). The band’s high-octane electro music is synonymous with atmospheric ambient and excitement. The band has previously been nominated for Grammy awards and won the Norwegian Spellemannprisen for their music.
