Weyfest is a premium boutique-style festival which has been held in Surrey in August each year since 2007. Weyfest is more like a mini-holiday than a music festival, it is a stress-free weekend in the country, with over 30 hours of the finest music. At Weyfest you will experience fine foods, wines, ales, ciders and lagers, cocktails and champagne bars – all at reasonable prices. There are plenty of posh clean toilets that are topped up with supplies all weekend, a beautiful camp site with wonderful hot showers and great sound quality from the 4 stages, all set in 10 acres of stunning woodland of the Rural Life Centre museum – home to 40,000 fascinating artefacts of country life. There’s plenty to entertain all ages, quite apart from the fabulous music!
The Rural Life Museum is the home of Weyfest and is the largest countryside museum in the South of England. It was awarded a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence in 2015 and Queens Award for Voluntary Service and is a fascinating museum of village life, founded by Madge and Henry Jackson in 1973.
Since that time it has grown to occupy ten acres of field and woodland and the collection of around 40,000 artefacts is now housed in purpose built and reconstructed historic rural buildings. The displays reflect the dramatic changes in country living during the years between 1800 and 1960.
The museum is a professionally run organisation and a member of the Association of Independent Museums, supported by a team of over 100 regular volunteers.
