About The Festival

The Lucca Summer Festival (LSF) is one of Italy’s most prestigious outdoor music festivals, held annually in the historic city of Lucca, Tuscany. It was first launched in 1998, making it an event with over 25 years of history.

Founded by D’Alessandro e Galli, the festival started as a boutique-style concert series, bringing international and Italian artists to the intimate yet grand setting of Lucca’s old town. Over the years, it has hosted some of the world’s biggest stars, including The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Ed Sheeran, and Beyoncé.

Initially focusing on rock and pop, LSF has expanded to feature jazz, blues, and contemporary artists, drawing music lovers from across the world.

The festival takes place in Piazza Napoleone, a historic square in Lucca’s city center, surrounded by Renaissance-era buildings. For larger concerts, the event moves to Le Mura di Lucca (Lucca City Walls), a vast open-air venue that has accommodated crowds of over 40,000 people.

Beyond music, LSF enhances Lucca’s tourism, transforming the city into a vibrant summer hotspot while preserving its historic charm and cultural richness.
