Øya Festival 2025 starts with a package that we know many will enjoy, with pop sensation CHAPPELL ROAN’S first concert in Norway and Øya favorites KHRUANGBIN on Wednesday.
CHAPPELL ROAN has been nominated for six Grammy awards, and is among the artists most Øya audiences have wanted for next year’s festival. This will be her only concert in Norway in 2025.
KHRUANGBIN has grown since they were first seen at the intimate Hagen in Tøyenparken, into a band that plays large arenas. Thursday offers a strong indie duo, in the form of English group WET LEG and American MJ LENDERMAN. In addition, organisers welcome ANNA OF THE NORTH back and hope that many will catch the first Øya concerts of THE IMPOSSIBLE GREEN and ANNA LILLE.
The next five more names are here also, all of whom will be playing on Friday, August 8th. What a day it looks like it will be!
Since QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE had to cancel due to health reasons this summer, orgainsers have been in close dialogue. The band has wanted to make amends for the summer, for all disappointed fans. Øya is incredibly pleased to announce that it is now clear that there will be a QOTSA concert in the Amphitheatre on Friday night. In addition, audience favorites FONTAINES D.C., the rap comets in KNEECAP, folk music enthusiasts THE MARY WALLOPERS and the upcoming star NILÜFER YANYA will be playing on the same day.

Øya has followed GIRL IN RED since she played as a demo artist in 2018 and organisers are very proud that in 2025 they can present her as a worthy closing act on the biggest stage on Saturday, August 9. Make sure you catch her unique energy and strong songs in Tøyenparken. This will be her only concert in Norway in 2025.
For the last nine festivals, Øya has chosen as many different Norwegian bands and artists to close the Saturday with great success. This shows that there is a constant growth among those who are stepping up among the biggest in Norwegian music. The tenth name in a row will be GIRL IN RED, who is one of the Norwegian artists with the most international attention in recent years.
Throughout the festivals history organisers have wanted to elevate Norwegian artists to the next level in their careers. At a time when the Norwegian concert and festival industry is constantly criticized for repeating itself to a large extent, we see it as even more important to find the headliners and superstars of the future. One of the ways we work with this is to give Norwegian artists better settings, larger stages and more opportunities.
The festival will feature a program with great variety and a lot of content, just the way we know the audience wants the Øya experience. Towards the spring, we will build on the program at all ends, so that we get a diversity in the artists’ expressions, size, background and identity. Nowhere else in the festival summer will you get so many choices, so much current music and so much breadth as at Øya.
